Curiously, Serena said during her press conference that she thought she foot-faulted. "I'm pretty sure I did," she said. "If she called a foot fault, she must have seen a foot fault. I mean, she was doing her job. I'm not going to knock her for not doing her job."

did she really think it was ok to say " i'm gonna take this ball and shove it down your fucking throat " ?

when asked in the presser what she said , she couldnt remember...

imagine that...

i doubt she says anything if its a man over there instead of some little asian lady.

williams and judge

being a sports purist, and a tennis enthusiast, i don't believe the foot fault call can be made at that point, unless the judge is 200% sure it would pass a challenge. we all say winners and losers should not be in the hands of refs or judges, but decided on the field or court of play.
the call all but gave the game to her opponent. anyone who has played
competitive sports can understand the outburst. and, of course, i and anyone else also must accept the unfortunate consequence--a point penalty. but, damn, what a time to call a questionable foot fault---the judge must not have an appreciation of the sport and the moment.
thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak my mind.
peace to all and good luck to the remaining players

it was a bad call, but a worse reaction by Serena...

she was going to lose anyway it appeared...she has come back from deficits before, but she was right on the edge in this one, and Clijsters wasnt giving her anything.......

It appears she took out all her frustrations on the judge, who simply made a bad call....

"I swear to God I'm fucking going to take this fucking ball and shove it down your fucking throat, you hear that? I swear to God"

She should have threatened to shove the ball up her ass, to the best of my knowledge nobody has ever died from a tennis ball up their ass.

how do you know it was a bad call ? any video is inconclusive. there is no video from the vantage point of the judge.

the line judge has to call it no matter what point in the match it comes.

fat ass serena should get a few months off for what she said.

Couldn't have said it better myself. There is a time and a place for foot faults and the semi finals in the second set at that point in the match are not one of them. Let the players determine the winner.

Mary Carillo just said she thinks Serena should be suspended
immediately and not be allowed to play her doubles matches.

She used the words "thrown out of the game for a while"

I agree.

BTW, if you review the youtube clips of the incident, when Serena
denies threatening to kill the line judge, you can hear people in the
crowd say "yes you did."

Why would she be "thrown out for a while"? The penalty for what she did (Yell at the judge) was a point in the game. Not a suspension from the sport.

disagree...

it must have been obvious to the judge. if she saw it , she had to call it.

it was left up to the players and one of the players faulted and then showed her fat ass to the entire world.

i dont have a problem with a suspension... its not ok to tell someone " i'm gonna take this ball and shove it up your fucking ass "

how many balls could you get up serena's fat ass ?

If she indeed threatened to kill the line judge, I think a suspension
is in order. The CBS folks said they could hear some things that weren't
allowed to pass through to the TV audience...

In all reality though do you think she will care if she is suspended for the rest of 2009. All of the Grand Slams are done until 2010.

Serena got upset and pulled a McEnroe. But she showed class by shaking Clitoris' hand afterwards and congradulated her. I don't think punishment should go any further than the ejection.

I mean, do you really think Serena was going to attempt to try and shove a ball down the line judges throat??!

Alright that was 30 seconds spent longer than need be for woman's tennis on NFL Sunday.

This just in no suspension just a $10,000 fine hahahaha. Serena did nothing wrong and she gets fined 10k oh well whats 10k to her. The necklace she wears when she plays is worth about 3 houses.
