"I swear to God I'm fucking going to take this fucking ball and shove it down your fucking throat, you hear that? I swear to God"
it was a bad call, but a worse reaction by Serena...
she was going to lose anyway it appeared...she has come back from deficits before, but she was right on the edge in this one, and Clijsters wasnt giving her anything.......
It appears she took out all her frustrations on the judge, who simply made a bad call....[/quote]
how do you know it was a bad call ? any video is inconclusive. there is no video from the vantage point of the judge.
the line judge has to call it no matter what point in the match it comes.
fat ass serena should get a few months off for what she said.
being a sports purist, and a tennis enthusiast, i don't believe the foot fault call can be made at that point, unless the judge is 200% sure it would pass a challenge. we all say winners and losers should not be in the hands of refs or judges, but decided on the field or court of play.
the call all but gave the game to her opponent. anyone who has played
competitive sports can understand the outburst. and, of course, i and anyone else also must accept the unfortunate consequence--a point penalty. but, damn, what a time to call a questionable foot fault---the judge must not have an appreciation of the sport and the moment.
thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak my mind.
peace to all and good luck to the remaining players
Mary Carillo just said she thinks Serena should be suspended
immediately and not be allowed to play her doubles matches.
She used the words "thrown out of the game for a while"
I agree.
Why would she be "thrown out for a while"? The penalty for what she did (Yell at the judge) was a point in the game. Not a suspension from the sport.
