And by the way the original bill already contains HEAVY sanctions on any offshore sportsbook that accepts wagers from Americans and doesnt buy a license.....

Barring a cite, I'll say that's bull.

Sportsbooks operating offshore are not within the legal jurisdiction of the U.S. federal government, so even if such language were in fact included, it would be utterly unenforceable.

PPP gets fired up: (1) LICENSING REQUIRED FOR CERTAIN INTERNET GAMBLING- No person may operate an Internet gambling facility that knowingly accepts bets or wagers from persons located in the United States without a license issued by the Secretary in accordance with this subchapter.

You dink....that law would only apply to operators within the USA. It would have no legally binding effect on books operating offshore, as you clearly claimed in post #20

Now take off your tin foil hat....And clean yourself up.

You pay your health care costs with the $10 bets you make?

Well, I'm actually up to an average of about $30 real money (the tracking threads continue to use smaller units in proportion to the Mythical Banks therein).

And thus you catch my teasing drift....If I need more than a couple hundred bucks in "health care" this month, I'll probably just have to wing it.

Thankfully, the tease is just that for the moment since SheBar rejoined her longtime employer this past May (after almost two years with another contractor) and I'm back on the "family coverage" of her corporate subsidized insurance plan.

But she's continuing to check out other options and what might be a better gig for her might not include such good coverage and then I'll be back to essentially self-insured.

Unfortunately If I am correct this bill will not allow sportsbetting,
but only online poker, and racebooks to operate.
The NCAA,and the Major League teams have a lot of influence in
congress.

If they are an offshore facility, what do they care about US laws. They are not obligated to follow our laws.

PPP's blood pressure and heart rate go to about 3x any time he thinks he's spotted a way that the evil Them might be playing boogeyman. That's the only explanation for his wild assertion in Post #20

this bill will allow $ to flow offshore. that is the big benefit to all of us. the bill would require licenses for offshores accepting wagers from the US, they would be paying the high fees . since sportsbetting is not legal no licenses could be purchased, only poker and horses.

No. It would require licenses for domestic-based operators only. The U.S. cannot demand licenses from operators outside their jurisdiction. Such demands would be unenforceable.
