Yea I know...that's why qualified it with an asterisk there. Hopefully the two conferences will meet in the bowls and we can see what happens on the field. In the meantime, best of luck this year

The two conferences meeting on the field won't settle anything because SEC homers will tell you that the SEC team doesn't care about bowl games that aren't the NC game. Capitol bowl looses don't count if you ask them. Only games against Ohio State count in alot of their eyes

I think Stafford is way over hyped.... BRUTAL conference for QB's, or offense is general

After the LSU/Auburn game people were talking about how good those teams and their defenses are. Now maybe some people will jump off the SEC bandwagon and realize the SEC is terribly over rated.

Auburn, Vandy, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Miss St, Ole Miss, South Carolina.

UGA and LSU are over rated and that'll be seen in a few weeks.

People need to stop believing what they see on ESPN. They've been blowing up the SEC for the last few years knowing they were going to buy their contract when it ran up on CBS. Brilliant business decision but every sucker that turns their TV on ESPN believes it's the Holy Grail of football.

Don't get me wrong. I think some great teams come out of the SEC. (2 National Champions in a row) But I'm tired about having to hear about playing an "SEC schedule". They don't compare to Texas's schedule...

And no I'm not a Big 12 fan at all.
You bring up some really good points abou the SEC and the fact that ESPN now owns their contract and all SEC games that are available will be shown on ESPN or ESPN2 in high definition (GOD I LOVE HD.) It would appear that you were right all along on the Longhorns being one of the best teams in the coutnry. As a Ricky Williams fan, I LOVE IT.

Mississippi State and Vanderbilt could match up to the teams in the bottom of the Big 12 and I think it would be great to see if it falls that way come bowl season. Kansas State beat down a terrible Texas A&M team but on the flip side lost away to an equally bad team in Louisville. I think both bottom teir teams have shown some inconsistancy and both bottom dwellers should be one hell of a match up with each other.

MSU vs. KSU
Vanderbilt vs. Iowa State
Mississippi vs. Texas A&M

You think that would be the bottom three? I am more than willing enough to shove Tennessee in there as they are the worst team in the SEC right now LOL.

Do not let the homers kill your views on the SEC though MM, it is a very very tough conference and the Big 12 has a lot of games still to be played also. SEC had a slight edge but with the Texas win the Big 12 is ahead or even at the least.

BOL to you this weekend and keep on the hot streak.

I would like to see a match up from top to bottom on the SEC vs. Big 12. I think we could start to see the better conference and or get some nice and heavy arguments in here about who would win!

I don't believe that he is WAY over hyped, but it certainly is close. He has playmakers that can make up for a lot of mistakes he has and will make. Crompton needs the playmakers he has and he would be so GOO... wait a minute..

No he would not.

Ah that is not true for some of us. In the recent years I can settle an argument by simply stating the SEC usually has the best record come bowl time! :drink:

Haha just bustin ya up.

Also you won't see anything like this happening in the Big 12..

1) Miss. State 14 LOUISANA TECH 22

2) Arkansas having to have a 4th quarter comeback to beat LOUISIANA MONROE after being down 27-14 early in the 4th. And the week before that were also trailing in the 4th to WESTERN ILLINOIS before scoring 14 unanswered.

3) Auburn's notorious 3-2 against Mississippi State.

4) Tennessee nipping NORTHERN ILLINOIS 13-9.

5) Kentucky being a yard away from losing to MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE on a Hail Mary to grab a 20-14 W.

6) South Carolina squeaking by WOFFORD after only being up 16-13 halfway through the 4th.

7) Vandy had 542 passing yards through 6 games.

Here are some of your marquee wins for your Big 12 conference

I would usually agree with someone or something being overhyped in the SEC, but not Stafford. This guy is legit. I don't even think he'll just be very good, and make the pro bowl often. This guy is going to be special. I just hope he has some weapons to work with or at least a good OL. Stafford to Calvin Johnson could become the #1 QB/WR duo within 2 years along with Cutler/Marshall.

The sec is having a terrible year. Still, to say Texas schedule is tough is hilarious. Missouri is overrated. Ok state is a joke. They have no defense. If they played florida, georiga, lsu, alabama....it would be a blowout...much like what happened when they came to athens last year....it was like watching a highschool team. When bowl games come around, big 12 will get beat up badly by teams that play defense. My bet of the year will be any SEC team over texas if it happens in a national championship. Ok state ranked 8 is like vandy even being ranked...a huge huge joke

I think the main reason the people from outer realm of the South are souy concentrated on picking apart the SEC to support it. :103631605

Actually I would bump Snead to the bottom. He'll be a decent QB before he's done.

The rest is correct and very down from years past.

The Big 12 is likely top to bottom the best this year. One bad Offensive night and you can lose by 20 to another. But there is not much good Defense. Would be nice to see someone against an Alabama or Florida Defense. Everyone else is either overrated or get ZERO support from their Offense and the Defense tires out.

Just because you score alot does not mean you can dominate and win the big game. Ask the Miami team from '92.
