My question is, "So what?"
UF plays in the SEC. They play 1 of their games in Jacksonville EVERY year (which eliminates a home game every other year). They play FSU, arguably one of the toughest teams over the last 30 years (top 5). And a PAC12 fan has a problem with it? Who cares?? Seriously. UF plays LSU, UGA, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, and FSU every single year. That schedule alone would make P12 teams cry tears and hope for 6-6 seasons. Plus you add in a West game vs. Bama....or any of the West teams, hell they are all good! But a P12 fan has the BALLS to question UF's schedule? But Conan has "known this for years"?? So what?
Florida has one of the top 10 athletic budgets in the country. If they give up a home game they lose 1/7th of their football revenue. It's not happening. The Michigan game is neutral site, they'll get paid well for that. They play Miami occasionally. But a P12 fan "knows" that UF plays a soft schedule?
More than 75% of D1 teams schedule a 1AA team. Did you KNOW that Conan??
Again, SEC teams have no one to apologize to about their schedules! NO ONE! Especially the Pac 12!
How about joining with the humans and just getting the show out on the road? Wouldn't that suit everyone?
Pac-12 or otherwise, it still is what it is. Fans all over the country would pay BIG BIG money to put games like
those, a home home vs a top 10 team on the road etc. I bet you would be watching.
The SEC, notorious in scheduling cream puffs, hit a new low today. They decided that both Notre Dae and BYU would be considered Power Five teams and scheduling them would cover the requirement that each SEC team play at least one out of conference power team a season. So what is wrong with that you might ask? It is the third team that they gave power 5 status to. Army. Thats right. ARMY, who has not defeated Navy in 15 years. That Army.
Even Florida would schedule a roadine at Army. How chicken s**t is this? I guess the SEC finally reasalizes that it is NOT the best onference around. Anhy SEc team that schedules Army as their Power 5 non-con opponent should be immediately dismissed from consideration for the playoffs no matter what their record turns out to be. How emarraseing this must be for Clover and all of the SEC followers in here who thought that they had the best conference ever. I can see it now. Auburn University has scheduled Army to open the 2023 season in Dallas. Auburn will arm two Combat Divisions as payment for playing the Cadets. Does ANY SEC fan want to try and defend this?
As a non SEC guy being an ohio state fan.. seems if you dont follow an sec team you hate the conference which is crazy.. every year there is this debate about the best conference and I just shake my head... there is not a close second to the sec.. Ohio State won it all last year but that did not make the BIG the best conference, just had the best team. Team for Team, man for man, there is no other conference close to the size, speed, athleticism, etc of the SEC. If Ohio State is not playing I watch sec football, the big sucks .. other then osu, msu, wisky.. what has there consistently been ? nothing? i have family in the south a good friends son plays at ole miss.. the best football is in the sec and if i had to play that conference schedule i would not play another power 5 school...my guys would need a break to physically heal up... one thing i dont like is when they play the easy ones late in the year before a rival game, but nothing illegal about. Have to put your team in the best position to win. SEC is still the best conference in america and will be for a very long time. they may not win the championship every year but that does not dismiss the body of work playing in the conference.

Bucks......you have always 1st class and know the game.....do you think OSU wins the natty if Miller doesn't go out? Had a conversation with a OSU colleague the other day and he told me no way. It was an interesting discussion. In my opinion Urban is the best coach in the game.....and has been since he was a Utah. Can't say I miss him much in the SECE.
Up here in ohio all urban talks about is sec, sometimes to much.. He says if u r going to win and compete with the SeC u have to recruit much better. I think big coaches hate him ( maybe not dantonio ) he says it all the time wtf are other coaches in the conference doing? Need to pick it up.. He places the sec on a pedestal and says this is we want to be, built like an sec team.Very much agree. Glad you're not so blind. I imagine Urban Meyer would be the first non-SEC coach to admit as much.
Meyer is right. I've been saying the same thing in here for years. The only difference between the SEC and the other conferences isn't magical coaching, it's recruiting. Learn to recruit like the SEC and you can beat the SEC. I think we found that out in this first playoff.Up here in ohio all urban talks about is sec, sometimes to much..
