Did you get to see Slumdog yet Dave? Its a City of God lite. City of God was too grimy for our friends in Hollywood to give it some love (now thats comedy. get it?).
On to your question I would say Milk has decent value, Meryl Streep and Sean Penn has some appeal.
Might put $10 on Streep and Penn. Want Winslet and Rourke to win so I won't be totally bum if I lose.

Its funny you say City of God lite b/c that's the movie I thought of when watching it.
Milk was definitely better in my opinion, so I'd have to say there is some value there. Penn and Rourke were both amazing. Haven't seen Doubt or Revolutionary Road, so I can't comment on Streep.
What's the deal with CCBB, why so much love for best picture? And do I need to see it soon or can it wait?
I concur, Milk SHOULD be talked about more. I think Penn, Franco, and Speed Racer did solid jobs and the movie has great holding power.
With the exception of Snatch (Must see) I'm not a big Brad Pitt fan. In CCBB he basically played himself yet again. The movie does have a unique flair and most find it captivating. I can understand how the aging in reverse with some compelling story telling can do that @)
Bottom line Slumdog wins, Rourke and Winslet should win, and Boyle/Heath are locks.
