New York is currently one game behind Boston in the standings, but I think they will be even after this contest. Nestor Cortes has given the Yankees a much needed boost when he entered the rotation giving them quality start after quality start. Cortes doesn't have much to show for it, but he has pitched very well in September. Cortes has no games of record this month, but has pitched to a 2.82 ERA over 4 starts with New York winning three of those. Nick Pivetta is scheduled to take the bump for Boston and he was lit up in his only start against the Yankees allowing 4 earned runs in just 1.2 innings. I think the Yankees get another win today.
