Soprano's was great as well but let's not forget they had some slow seasons/bad episodes too. I loved both but I looked forward to Dexter more each week than Soprano's. Not necessarily because it was better but more cliff hangers.

I keep hearing how great the wire was, I need to watch that sometime

Had tons of throwaway eps but that was kinda the beauty of the show. The characters were so rich that they could get away with eps like that, no other show could even come close to just throwing away eps away. Spending the beginning of season 6 just on Vito being gay and going to New Hampshire.

is there anyone that thinks Eli is better than Peyton?

That is the point. Thinking Dexter > Sopranos is akin to thinking Eli > Peyton. Just a joke, I've never seen Dexter but I can tell I probably wouldn't like it.

This is a funny post Patsfan. You have never watched it, but can tell you wouldn't like it. That is the mentality kids have when they are told to eat their vegetables. Or old people because they are so stubborn. I'll tell you what you're mom told you -just try it, it's good. You never know until you try it.

i hear ya. I feel the same way about the walking dead. I can't understand what the fascination is with zombies. I've watched a couple episodes, but it just seemed silly to me. People seem to really like it though.

Not sure how you can say it's a joke to say Dexter is better when you have never seen it. Odd post

I said comparing Dexter to Sopranos is like comparing Eli Manning and Peyton Manning, that was the joke which Bourn didn't get. I didn't say saying Dexter was better than Sopranos was a joke. I actually made a joke...

And I say this because I think Sopranos is the GOAT show (besides maybe The Wire)

Anything like sci fi/thriller even GOT with the midievel stuff I can't get into. I like shows that feature real people (albiet with oversized personalities but still) like Deadwood, Wire, Sopranos, Breaking Bad.

Forgot about Deadwood. Loved that one. Too bad they stopped making them so soon.

also, Oz was real good until about the last 2 seasons

I just watched Deadwood actually. They were talking about doing a movie for awhile but fell through the cracks. It really is a great show but it's so slow that a lot of people just can't get into it.

That is the type of criticially acclaimed, low tv ratings type show that got canceled 8-10 years ago that they actually stick with longer now hoping it picks up momentum in later seasons. For instance nobody really watched Breaking Bad until season 3 or 4 and by the thing ended pretty much everyone was watching it in real time.

BAS NY/NJ credibility card revoked for life....

lol

Maybe if it was based on a NY Mob Family it would have been better ....

Not saying the Sopranos was a bad show, just out of the 6 seasons, 4 were good. maybe 4 1/2 ?? They ran out of ideas pretty quick with this show. How do you run out of ideas about a MOB show ??????
