Soprano's was great as well but let's not forget they had some slow seasons/bad episodes too. I loved both but I looked forward to Dexter more each week than Soprano's. Not necessarily because it was better but more cliff hangers.

Had tons of throwaway eps but that was kinda the beauty of the show. The characters were so rich that they could get away with eps like that, no other show could even come close to just throwing away eps away. Spending the beginning of season 6 just on Vito being gay and going to New Hampshire.
This is a funny post Patsfan. You have never watched it, but can tell you wouldn't like it. That is the mentality kids have when they are told to eat their vegetables. I just watched Deadwood actually. They were talking about doing a movie for awhile but fell through the cracks. It really is a great show but it's so slow that a lot of people just can't get into it.
That is the type of criticially acclaimed, low tv ratings type show that got canceled 8-10 years ago that they actually stick with longer now hoping it picks up momentum in later seasons. For instance nobody really watched Breaking Bad until season 3 or 4 and by the thing ended pretty much everyone was watching it in real time.
