This Saints team under Haslett has always played up to the competition but down to the competition as well. They will go into Arizona overconfident. The heat and conditioning will play a role as I expect Dennis to force Saints to wear those black jerseys. Arizona is better than 49ers and Saints barely beat them at home. Seahawks beat them solidly and what can I say for the Rams as Martz is giving games away at least every other week. Saints don't play paticularly hard and it will bite them here. Cardinals win this game su on late McCown touchdown to Fitzgerald. Hard work finally will pay off for Denny and the troops.

BUT the "down to the competition" is almost only at home, you might notice, or at the end of the season.

I don't care what reasoning or excuses you use, but it still comes down to the fact that Arizona, despite being 0-3, has played 3 very competitive games against 3 good opponents. That doesn't get done with tricks or mirrors.

I heard there are 10 road favorites today (I didn't count them) and some of these home dogs are going to win. I think that Arizona has a good chance to be one of the winners.

The problem is that Arizona is equal to the Saints with only their LBs, E. Smith (perhaps), Starks and Rackers. They play hard together - a continuation of McGinnis' chemistry - but talent, for the most part, "outs" in the NFL over the course of a season, and frankly, the guys in AZ don't have much yet. Shipp is pretty good, Boldin perhaps terrific, Fitzgerald when not gimpy and with more experience - a real pickup, and McCown has good potential but needs maturity and a better O-line. The Saints are not arrogant or going through the motions to gather paychecks.

With some teams, the first 2-3 games of the regular season are a variation of pre-season. AZ has been focussed and a bit lucky, leaving the perception of something better than the team that is 6-24 lately.

But for any getting the wrong idea, I am presenting a case...not arguing in a combative style.

First of all, betting on the Saints is just plain STUPID. That is a terrible franchise with NO support for their players.....which is good, because they don't deserve it.

However, The Aint's are a BIG second half team, and usually turn on the jets in the fourth quarter.

JUST SAY NO TO PRO!!

After watching AZ the first week I realized they will be in games all year no matter who they play.
