I am a physician in training and as others have already quoted, this phenomenon is true. However, it is the same for several other bodily functions. Alas the famous south park episode where Chef shits him self post-mortum. Piss, and $hit is very common right after death. The erection is due to anaphylactic shock, when nerves just send random impulses to every muscle in the body. I'd be willing to bet that the ejaculate is not necessarily sperm, but semen, which is released from the prostate when the muscles relax during death.
