Shoe - I remember the soup and the Dr. browns so well. When Benny was still around he made sure that his place gave the best food for the money anywhere.

Just read about Leroy's again. I just got back yesterday morning and did'nt see Leroy's open. I stayed too many days and drank to much, ate to much, but had a great time as always.

I ate at the Deli at the Shoe and it was not as good as the old sandwiches, but they give you plenty, i could not finish a humongous White Albacore Tuna sandwich by myself.

Plaza Diner had a pretty good Steak and 2 Lobster tails for $9.95

I like the sanwiches at the Golden Gate Deli. They also have the Best 99 cent Shrimp Cocktail in Vegas for the past 15-20 years, with no filler, just cold water shrimp and sauce served in a tulip glass. There is a piano player in the evenings.

I think the steak house was called the Sombrero room (could be wrong). Great T-bones.

Horseshoe...I love Dona Maria's Tamales, though it got a "B" from the health department.

You LV guys need to try McCormick & Schmicks for their Happy Hour, not that their food isn't sometimes overrated from dish to dish misses due to a huge menu, and some small portions for the price of some fish, or freshness factors from one's choice..

But they have a fabulous happy hour in the bar areas, with drinks, burgers, spring rolls, mussels, tenders,etc..for a mere buck!

I don't know if the one Vegas location has the same option, but the Houston location does..I eat 2 servings of the black mussel soup every trip.

But would rather The Tillerman or Emeril's for fish dishes overall.
