i never understood why people think this is classless.....u PLAY TO WIN THE GAME.....and u never stop playing.......last time i checked....u play 60 minutes of football......not 57, not 58, no 59.....u play a full 60 minutes. If you don't want someone to score, then fuckin stop them! Nothing pisses me off more than "oh that team is rubbing it in..." blah blah blah. Play some fuckin defense and stop whining.
People often say that the breaks even out. If you're a decent handicapper, I totally disagree. If you're not without talent, you typically won't need something bizarre to go your way. On the other hand, it often takes something stupid to occur in order to lose.
The winning play was to run and make the first down and run out the clock or do lack the wisdom to understand that? By throwing deep and extending the game Stanford deserved to get an unnecessary injury on the ensuing possession (which never should've happened).
