Playing in Lambeau....in the middle of January.... is a bitch.....The weather plays such a significant roll requiring teams to make adjustments which distracts from traditional game planning. The game starts out bitter cold and it gets colder as the game moves on. This is where the Packers have the advantage, living in that environment.

You mean like when the indoor Falcons with Vick went into Lambeau at night in the playoffs & won SU? Gbay was 13-0 SU since 1939 at home going into that game.......

Of course the weather is gonna be cold, but it won't affect Dallas much as people think......what it will do is affect Rodgers tore up calf.

I think with Rogers not being 100% I like Dallas to win straight up. Will be throwing some $$ on Dallas ML

Packers will mass protect. Lacy and Starks will get more carries. Packer offense will be fine. Don't know about the GB defense, however. And Harry The Hat, he has had acupuncture, not aqua puncture. Aqua puncture is something you do to war criminals to make them talk.

its not as this wasn't the case the whole time now its just being reported publicly. its a slight tear therefore a recovery time is somewhere in neighborhood of 2-3 weeks he certainly won't be 100% but i imagine he'll be numbed up prior to the game and i think the pack will still light the boys up..

Rich, agree with you 100% but will be curious to know which way the bet tickets are coming in especially before game time. Throw a bone on this game if possible!

LOL if Rodgers got aqua puncture, he'll have other things to worry about then his strained calf

i Can't believe i'm saying something good about Tony Romo, but he has played with injuries no other QB would ever play with. plus, he never announces it, you find out after the fact. he never talks about it.

now Mrs. Rodgers on the other hand, she has a press conference to announce she has a hangnail. all week long she has fixated on it. it's the playoffs. play or don't play. every player on every team has some injury. they just don't tell everyone like Mrs. Rodgers does. find a way to win or don't play. not interested in the drama. women....

I know the talk in here is all about Aaron Rodgers calf condition but no one mentions Tony Romo's Back condition. A Back condition he was operated on. Back conditions NEVER fully heal. Once a bad Bad always a bad Back. How will Tony Romo's Back hold up in the frigid conditions of Lambeau Field??? How will Tony Romo's Back hold up when Clay Mathews and Julius Peppers hit him a few times???

Romo has his own health issue, along with an issue in big games... Will the real Tony Romo show up??? Stay tuned to Sunday to find out

something fishy about this calf biz

Part of me thinks this is a bit of gamesmanship by McCarthy and the Packers. This isn't a full tear obviously or he wouldn't be playing. Even with a severe partial tear he likely would be out. A partial tear could be anything from something slightly worse than a tweak to a sizeable tear. They have no obligation to tell us. Someone tell me why the Packers would jeopardize their franchise QBs health in freezing weather if they knew it could result in him being out for an extended period?

Methinks this is a headfake and the "tear" is so minor that we won't tell the difference between Romo's and Rodgers' mobility. With the bitter cold, neither will be rushing much. If the Packers can keep Rodgers clean which I expect them to, then I think this game will br close. I'm starting to worry about my Dallas wager. Even though the side line has moved from 6.5 to 5, the total and the ml haven't budged much at all. Shouldn't the news seriously affect the total and ml (especially the total)?

I'm starting to think Green Bay is the correct side. If the line drops to 4, I'll try to middle. However, I don't think it will ever get there. Got a bad feeling my wager is already lost. I may try to get out of it by selling points.

the more and more it comes close to gametime the more and more I think I'm just going to lay off the game and hope dallas kicks ass. if Matt Flynn has to play for any length of time the Pack will lose... he sucks. yes his numbers were good against Dallas last year but wtf does that have to do with anything? the Cowboys had the worst defense statistically in history last year and Flynn had a few starts under his belt.
now to the weather, the biggest advantage for the Pack will be the playing surface. Lambeau is a great stadium to look at but the playing surface is one of the worst in football. also, what has Rodgers done in cold weather playoff games at home? the weather Affects him too. if I'm dallas IM blitzing the hell out if him up the middle, if you rough him a time or two so be it. its the chance you take but I'm coming after him.

I think Tony answered those all season long? He's dealt with cold weather this year. He's dealt with hits this year. Even took him out of a couple of games. Should be nothing new. The calf injury to Rodgers is fairly new and apparently still not healed. You saw him crumple to the ground in his last game and he wasnt even hit.

I dont think this game really comes down to Romo though. It's on Murray to run and hold onto the rock.

Has anyone seen Rodgers move in the last few days? I had a partial calf tear, and 3 fractured vertebrae......trust me, fb wise, the calf tear is much worse. The pain is off the chart, and theres no way to medicate or splint it. We'll know watching him warm up.....possibly not before, unless someone has eye witness info.

BOL 2 all!!!

I remember the play-off loss to the NYG's a few years ago at Lambeau when the Packers ended the regular season (14 & 2 ?) shooting for an undefeated season until the loss at KC at the end of the season. The weather (colder than a witch's tit) and the Lambeau turf didn't bother the Giants.

My big question is how Dallas went from the worst defensive team (statistically) last year, as you say, and whether they improved significantly this year.

My play tomorrow: (under) the number which is currently (52) with my book. (The Rodgers question-mark and the improved Dallas defense makes me go this way).
