I'll give Sherman credit for this. This is a class act...

"One thing I can’t accept is what I read after the game about Seahawks fans throwing food at 49ers linebacker Navorro Bowman as he was being carted off the field with his knee injury," Sherman wrote on MMQB.com. "If it’s true, it’s beyond terrible. That’s as low as it gets. I’m sure whoever did this is in a small minority of fans, because I don’t think that kind of action is an accurate representation of the character of the 12th man. Navorro Bowman is a great player who plays the game the right way. When he went down, I dropped to a knee and prayed for him. He deserves better than having food thrown at him as he’s carted off a field. All players deserve better than that."

I would guess cause he's from Compton :think2:

Because all people that move out of the ghetto or trailer park commit crimes and can't hold jobs right?

Do you know Richard Sherman's father gets up each day at 4 a.m. and still drives a garbage truck in Compton? Do you know his mom works with disabled kids in the inner city and his parents are still together which is quite uncommon in today's African American communities?

Guy is anything but ghetto. Raised by a good family, well spoken and educated. But, carry on if you want.

We'll see what Manning does. Sherman will have his hands full with Thomas, Decker and Welker. And a much smarter QB than Kaepernick. I also wouldn't mind seeing Welker give Sherman a kidney shot like he did Talib, and puts his thug ass on the sidelines for the rest of the game.

Can't wait to see Welker go across the middle against K. Chancellor. Guarantee he'll do it one time only.

Lol, even Pete Carroll says he spoke to him about his comments and how they were not acceptable.

But what you didn't say is that Carroll also said he backs his guy and is glad he is who he is on the field.

AK, if I were Sherman, I wouldn't act like he does, it's not me. It's not most people. I get why he rubs some people the wrong way. I get it.

But he's not a ghetto thug. He's not an idiot. He's a smart dude and his teammates love him. I don't think he cares much about anything else.

I can only judge what I see. This isn't the first time he's done it. Running to Tom Brady to talk shit last year was pathetic. And the response was classless. Majority of people think so. Go to any website out there and it is a trending story and people think it's pathetic. Like I said, you can be emotional and talk about how excited you are that your team won, etc. But his actions were a direct reflection on who he truly is. A selfish thug that really is out there for himself.

And of course Pete Carroll backs the guy. The fact Pete Carroll made the statement that his comments are not represented of his rules is proof enough for you that his rant was classless. Pete Carroll has to say it in the nicest way as that is his team. The rest of the country will see it for what it is, a very classless and pathetic display by a "smart dude" as you call him. Pathetic.

You didn't call him ghetto but you said people do because he's from Compton?

I get it. Right.

AK, all you look at is the end result.

Did you know when the Pats were winning that game, Tom Brady told Sherman and E. Thomas to come "see him" after the game? Did you know Brady was talking trash all game as well? See, you don't point that out do you?

So, Sherman went and saw Brady after the game but because it's the great Tom Brady, it's ok to talk trash right?

"That was when they were winning. He just gave me that look and said, 'Oh, I'll see you after game.' - Sherman on what Brady told him during the game.

They want him on his team because this is professional football, not college, not high school. There's a reason Barry Bonds was voted off his college team at Arizona State. There's also a reason his coach decided to overturn the vote and keep him on the field. When you're viewing these players as part of a business, and part of your business (and these players get paid handsomely for advancing in the playoffs), of course you want this dickhead on your team.

It doesn't get much worse than going on air and telling someone you're 'better than them at life' - because what, you graduated from Stanford and play in the NFL? Absurd. It's not a well kept secret that Stanford does a great job of ushering students through the classroom and hardly fails anyone who participates. I'd love for some mediocre NBA or MLB player who doesn't like Sherman to tell him that, despite being 'the best in his field' he still won't have more than a fraction of his money guaranteed throughout his career relative to what those guys in other sports make. DEVIN HARRIS, a one time allstar and nothing close to 'the best in his field' had a 5 year, 42 million guaranteed deal. And the chances of a guy like that, or a Steve Blake <insert middling="" guard="" here=""> having a longer earning career than Sherman are much better.

Enfeugo, don't confuse Sherman with Nnamdi Asomugha. He was an intelligent corner. Just look at Sherman's email at Stanford that was posted on deadspin. Some heavily edited article on MMQB doesn't prove much.

And don't compare Sherman with Asomugha. That's a bad comparison.

You make good points Dsethi and I respect your opinion.

Great discussion guys. I'll bow out now and let Sherman's play on the field and his community involvement off do the talking.

I will say though, 99% of NFL players run their mouths all game long with Boldin, Crabtree and V. Davis being three of the worst. But, when they get bullied back and shut down, it's not ok? It's ok for Crabtree to challenge Sherman to a fight at a charity event but it's not ok for Sherman to call him "mediocre?" It's ok for Tom Brady to talk shit all game long but not ok for Sherman to give it back?

I see.

In all my years of watching sports... I've never seen a more pathetic and classless player on the field and off than Sherman, and his post game rant yesterday just validated my opinion. It was despicable.

They've got much more to worry about than just Welker. Manning has an embarrassment of riches at WR. Try keying on Welker and see what happens. It's been a problem for opposing defenses all year. No reason to think Seattle won't have the same problems. It should be a good game. But Russell Wilson better be on his game.

What the fuck does that have anything to do with? So what if he has a decent set of parents? too bad he is still an asshole. There are plenty of people with no parents/ single parent that turn out just fine. On the other side of the spectrum there are people with both parents who turn out like straight assholes(exhibit A)

Doesn matter if you act like an asshole all the time.

Every move he makes is calculated. I mean look at how stirred up everybody is. He turned his team into underdogs with that statement bro lol. Think about it
