It is a smart move. He plays defensive back. Of course he wants Kaepernick to have a starting job.

I actually like Richard Sherman, or at least respect the fact that he is more intelligent than 99% of the league.
Ha, now that makes sense. The first sentence, anyway.

Sherman needs to focus on how to make Seattle a better team because they are horrible... if he is wanting Kap to replace Wilson....at least its in the interest of the team.

End of the day NFL fans dont want to hear the players spew this shit. I wish players that start with the PC crap just get cut. Who cares...

This crap is getting old.

If you have a high profile job in the private sector and you do something to piss off the customer base you're sent packing. Anyone who has a job gets it and acts accordingly.

Race has nothing to do with it except it seems to be mostly blacks who don't get this simple principle.

Yep, if I'm the owner of the Seahawks, I fire him on the spot, just like any other job or private business.

People don't seem to understand that he may be better than some of these guys like Tolzien but its not in the best interest of any franchise to go from 2 wins to 4 wins and just get a worst draft pick because of it. The Jets and Browns and hopefully the Colts are in full tank mode and the Jags as well who could be very dangerous immediately with a Sam Darnold

Why bring a guy in that will take a team from 2 wins to 4 wins and deal with all the BS plus actually have to pay him. And who knows he may be worse than some of these others because he hasn't played in so long and apparently seems to be busier acting like some liberal than working out.

well, I guess if teams are stuck with a bad QB, they'd prefer that bad QB not have excessive baggage

you see, pissing off the vast majority of their fan base is not something they're looking to do

the decisions you make can and do have consequences, and when you live the life of privilege like Kap, you should decide to NOT fuck it up

As soon as he stated "he deserves" to play I stopped reading. Nobody deserves to play in the NFL.

Now he's going on about injury reports & gambling...

Richard Sherman: Injury reports designed for gamblers, oddsmakers
Brady Henderson
ESPN
9/20/17

RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman took issue Wednesday with the NFL's injury reports, saying their purpose is to better inform gamblers on how to bet games.

"From what I understand, the rule is for the gamblers, for Vegas, to make sure that the odds and everything are what they're supposed to be, which is apparently what the league is concerned about when talking about injuries and things like that," Sherman said. "So maybe somebody should look into that, because I thought we weren't a gambling league and we were against all those things. But our injury report is specifically to make sure the gamblers get their odds right."

An NFL spokesperson responded to Sherman's comments on Wednesday, telling The Seattle Times:

"The decades-old policy is in place to ensure that all clubs provide accurate and timely information to other clubs, the public and media about every player's availability. It is designed for competitive fairness purposes and curtails the potential for someone to attempt to gain and exploit inside information.

"Without such a policy, you could envision a potential scenario in which a teammate or team personnel could be approached by a third party to sell inside information about a player's undisclosed injury that could sideline or inhibit his performance. The policy, which is closely monitored by the league, provides a transparent look at player availability."

NFL teams are required to submit injury reports on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday ahead of Sunday games. The league's injury report policy states: "All players who have significant or noteworthy injuries must be listed on the Practice Report, even if the player takes all the reps in practice, and even if the team is certain that he will play in the upcoming game." Teams are required to list the degree to which injured players took part in practice as either did not participate, limited participation or full participation.

The issue was raised Wednesday after Sherman stumbled while walking up a short flight of steps toward the podium for his weekly press conference.

"Injury report," Sherman joked. "Gotta call the league, make sure they know."

The Seahawks got into some hot water with the NFL after coach Pete Carroll revealed publicly at the end of last season that Sherman had played through a knee injury in the second half of the season. Sherman, who didn't miss a game, had been on the team's injury report regularly during the season, but his knee was never listed as the reason. The NFL looked into the matter but decided not to discipline the Seahawks.

Sherman was on the Seahawks' injury report before both of the team's first two games this season, including last week due to a hamstring injury. He didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday.

Asked about that after Seattle's win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Sherman downplayed the severity of the injury and said, "Now we've just got to mention everything, make sure the league is -- they want to be aware of things. I think I've got a hangnail, so we're going to put that in the injury report next week. Yeah. We don't want to miss nothing."

Sherman said Wednesday he doesn't pay attention to NFL betting lines but that he's certain they're affected by injury reports.

"I think somebody said we were heavy favorites last week," he said, referring to the Seahawks being favored by two touchdowns in their home opener against San Francisco, which they won 12-9. "So I'm sure people were disappointed by that."

now Richard Sherman is whining that Fantasy Football is dehumanizing players

I think a lot of people, a lot of fans out there have looked at players less like people because of fantasy football. This is real life and this is their real job. that is affecting their well-being. Now your fantasy team may not win and hey, guess what? You’ll live the next day. This is their well-being. They may not ever get another shot. They may never get another down, another play.

I hate the NFL a little more every day....

I bet more than half the players have fantasy teams themselves. Just a stupid comment.

I don't mind the the fantasy football comments. There is certainly some validity to that.

David Johnson broke his wrist and people are hitting him up on twitter saying it ruined their season. If you don't have full use of all your extremities and someone is talking about their fantasy football team I'm sure you would find that pretty annoying.

He was talking about it in that context.

The league is probably 75% black, but it’s a racist league because nobody wants to sign Kaepernick?

Oh, ok!

Just stop for a second and think about how absurdly stupid that take is. The only people clamoring for Kaepernick to get signed are those who support his anti-American agenda.

I wouldn’t know whether there really has been exceptionally bad QB play in the league this year, because I haven’t watched a single snap of pro ball this season. But I do know that Kaepernick was atrocious when he last played. He had one good year, then completely collapsed after the Niners threw a big contract his way. The numbers don’t lie...this isn’t as if this is Tom Brady hanging around unemployed. However bad it has been, CK won’t make it any better.
