where are you getting 61%on cleveland? i was looking at covers and it says 79% on clev st. do all the offshore books have to be on the same number/ or are you picking one book and using that? because like you said the line has moved to -6 in all books except one (wsex)

The 61% is on SportsInsights. I am only tracking the movement of Pinnacle because I'm using SportsInsights for free and Pinnacle is the only thing that has free info for opening and closing lines.

Wouldn't hold your breath on Cleveland State, Pinnacle has it at -6.5 (play at -6 and 60+%) while every other book is at -6. Sitting at 61% on SportsInsights.

I'm starting to realize it will be essentially impossible for me to post plays since it's so reliant on closing numbers, and then there's a delay on top of that. I'll just post the results each day of the games that qualified, if you want to play just follow the system at the top of the page.

Ok, I'm probably just an idiot and am not understanding this correctly, but if the majority of the money is on one side, and Vegas moves the line the OTHER way, doesn't that typically mean Vegas wants you to take the side the public is on?

For instance, if the public is on Kansas as a big fave and Vegas DROPS the line, doesn't that usually mean Vegas is trying to get more action on Kansas? Over the years I've done fairly well going against the line in those situations, but it sounds like you play it the other way? Not criticizing at all, just curious to hear your thoughts. Like I said, I might not be understanding your system right.

About as square as it gets. I can't believe this has actually been profitable, but the numbers don't lie.

they do lie, you cant cherry pick games, if you chart every game ( and EVERY game line moves one way or another) the overall record of betting for or against movement is about 50-50 on average over the long run.

but good luck , and have fun , your perception skews the way you want it too, like people who belive in UFO's , they cherry pick evidence , but it isnt real, nor scientific.

You are right 100%.

What I am doing is essentially betting AGAINST the smart money.

Lets do the Kansas game for example. 60% on Kansas, Kansas was -12, closed at -10.5

People who believe in reverse line movement (I don't) would think "Hey, smart money is on Oklahoma State. Line is moving in their favor and the public is betting on Kansas". They'd eat up Kansas at those odds.

This system is the antithesis of that. It's doing the opposite of the smart money. It's betting against the "big shots" who put the smart money on teams.

AC you are right too, statistics are meant to be manipulated and biased. Why use 1.5, when I can use 1.0? Why use 60% when I can use 59%? I'm only publishing statistics that fit my argument. It's biased. I'm simply looking for trends, posting them, and see how they do.

Watching the UCSB at UCI (-1) game later tonight. UCI has 59% with a -1.5 line move (opened at -2.5). We'll see. Ended up doing the "free trial" at Sports Insights so I don't have the 20 minute delay. Thought I had to give my CC info but didn't, just pressed a button.

I don't believe entirely in reverse line movement. Been tracking and got a 88-87 record for games where more than 50% are on one side and the line moves the other way.

However, I do believe that it can be tweaked in a profitable way.

Bet on any team with over 60% of the total bets placed where the line moves at least 1.5 points in the other direction. Record is 20-5.

  • Games with 1917+ bets are 18-2-1. In other words, stay away from games with essentially no action.
  • Any team with a 2.5 point RLM or higher and 60% is 6-0.
  • The high volume games (6537+ bets) are 7-0-1.
  • Games over 10K in total bets are 6-0-1.
  • Games over 15K in total bets are 5-0.
Here's the query on 60%+ and -1.5 line movement, enjoy! (Note: tracking since 1-24).

For you noobs, it's SportsInsights.com where I got the information.

there is no such thing as "reverse line movement"...usually the situations are talking about, the public is heavy on a side, then the big wigs are on the other side. percentages mean nothing, its all money...
