3peet, let me quote the messiah for you

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," Mr Obama said.

Thus, Rush is in the news.

Obama is nothing at all about bipartisanship, that was just more cheap hot air.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...h-Limbaugh-as-bipartisan-spirit-crumbles.html

Obama has told Republicans in Washington to stop listening to the right-wing talk show host Rush Limbaugh, risking a new culture war with conservative voters. His exhortation came as he enraged other Republicans by reversing George W Bush's ban on funding international aid to charities that perform or provide information about abortions.
After less than a week in office, Mr Obama's presidency is already encountering the very partisan bickering he had pledged to stamp out during his first 100 days.
He faces mounting criticism over his $825 billion economic stimulus plan, from Republican leaders who say the legislation has been drawn up without the input which Mr Obama had promised to allow them.
The president responded with a clear signal that he is prepared to ram the bill through without the bipartisan consensus he promised to construct, telling Republican leaders from the House of Representatives: "I won. I'm the president."
He then told them to break free of the confrontational mindset epitomised by Mr Limbaugh, the highest paid talk show host in America. "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," Mr Obama said.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

tell the pea brain Clinton won in 1992, but that didn't help him in 1994.

The country is not left of center, and only 22% of voters defined themselves as liberals on election day.

Quite frankly, he and Pelosi and Reid are urshering in a whole new era of partisan hatred, it won't serve them well.

As for not liking me, well, I don't give a shit. Can't please everyone, don't bother trying. Sorry if somebody gets upset that I won't participate in their partisan circle jerk, not my style.

RP is a true fiscal conservative but the repugs treated him like he was a turd in the punchbowl.

willie99, along with many other righties on this forum, tocco05, and the gang, darwinian, daveinvegas were the same ones having orgasms over palin and how should we set everything straight.

the basic code for what willie99 is saying, the republican party has nobody capable of effectively delivering a message to the people.

My fucking dog knows more tricks than you. He better, otherwise he'd be sitting in some dog pound.

that'd be all fine and dandy if the GOP were actually offering something different

meaning smaller government, lower debt, lower spending, and less taxes

all the offering is the 4th part...less taxes....right outta the dubya playbook....

its a dog and pony show willie

the talkin heads like rush, hannity, etc...have ruined the party....

just watch

the final package they put through with GOP input will be bigger than 819 billion

You know, interestingly enough, I've been listening to both Rush and Hannity's shows daily in the office since Jan 20th. The staff thinks I've lost my mind. Basically it helps me relax through these hectic days in the market.

3Peet, Limbaugh is not a politician nor is he the leader of the Republican party he’s a talk show radio host period. He has his own options much like everyone here, he just has a lot more people who listen to him. If BO hadn’t warned the Congress not to listen to Limbaugh if they wanted to get anything done the media wouldn’t have made a big deal out of it. Now since there were no replies to your question why don’t you just give us your one thought and then everyone can retort.

What led to Rush's rise to fame is that he was, at the time, the only person on the radio saying what conservatives were thinking. With the majority of the msm spewing the liberal line, Rush was able to articulate the conservative response to the news of the day. It was and is refreshing to hear a professional skillfully broadcast what many of us are already saying to each other around the water cooler, but isn't being reported or broadcast by the "news orgs" in this country.

dave, if they can't figure that out on their own, do you think your explanation can help?

Thanks Dave. I kinda see him as the Howard Stern of political radio. In all seriousness, given the current state of the country I can't think of anyone (other than maybe someone trying to assassinate Obama) wanting this president and administration to fail. Economically, militarily, socially, etc.

Thats all.

Some will argue, "Limbaugh doesn't need the ratings. He's got a gigantic following" And sure, I believe it too. Nonetheless. With the conservatives circling the wagon talking about "conservatives in exile" or "conservative underground" I figure he's just trying to find the next evolution of himself to carry through the next 4-8 years. I don't believe for one second he'll be yanked off the air. As for losing listeners, who knows. I've been listening to him for about 2 weeks straight now. and off and on for the passed 4 years. I will say he is a bit over the top from say 4 years ago.

But to answer your question about my thoughts; he's simply whoring for ratings. Nothing more.

3Peet, if you watched the interview with Hannity (I beat dead horses for a living) you would know that he wanted BO to fail because he believes his polices are Socalistic not because he hates him. Once again the media failed to mention that part. Give Limbaugh credit, at least he didn't whine and say he was taken out of context. And yes he makes his living pissing off Libs and a quite a lucritive one at that. And by the way the difference between Limbaugh and Hannity is Limbaugh brings fresh meat every day and
and Hannity brings stale bread.

In the imortal words of Lee Corso, "NOT SO FAST!" You and I both know Obama wasn't the only one telling the public not to listen to Limbaugh. I can recall a beloved republican suggesting it long before the president did.

Me I don't care either way. It's radio and everyone has an opinion.

:toast: I'll take that into consideration since I couldn't tell the difference between the two. It's probably because the common denominating phrase or word I constantly hear from Limbaugh, Hannity and for that matter Palin was the word "radical" every 5 minutes.

but here's where you're fundamentally wrong 3peet, we don't have a vocal political leader. We live our lives, depend on ourselves and tend to want political leaders to keep us safe but stay out of the way.

Every Republican I know(and living in Oklahoma, that means pretty much everyone) looks to Limbaugh and Hannity to decide where to focus their faux outrage for that week.

the messiah made Rush front page news

he understands more about everything than the messiah, and he's probably earned more money, coming from nowhere, than every career politician the left has in Washington.

but here's where you're fundamentally wrong 3peet, we don't have a vocal political leader. We live our lives, depend on ourselves and tend to want political leaders to keep us safe but stay out of the way.

Y'all are the ones that look to somebody else for guidance, and hope
