wouldnt he have to throw a reg season pitch for it to be an official bet, if he isnt out for the season, i do find it highly improbable for that bet to go over bc he wont get work horse load this season

Absolutely, I'd imagine with Zero Exceptions: "he has to throw a reg season pitch for it to be an official bet" and may be that at the LEAST..."work horse load" = DOOM for Price & The Red Sox every 5 Days, at this point in this cat's career. Overall I'm not even confident he can handle NON "work horse load", at this point. Yeah....he could surprise me, I suppose....this is among the most Shocking Contracts, to me at least: "seven-year, $217 million deal" for DAVID friggin PRICE?!!??

Damn Dude must've had a SuperStar Agent. A-Rod & The Rangers Contract type-insanity, this contract...IMO anyways.

Just No Clue why a General Manager would sign such a deal. Unless some "Kick Back" of massive $$$$ was coming his way, as result of it.

How tf you sign a 30 year & 4 month Old Price to $217 Million and 7 years?!?!? Thats what I wanna know.

Hope somebody got down on the under.

Sore pitching elbow. May need Tommy John.

Good Lord. He'll turn 32 on August 26th. I largely don't even wanna know what $$$$$ amount of Guaranteed Money BoSox have set themselves up like a Bowling Pin to get knocked down for here. Cuz to know this would make me even more confused, even louder "WTF??!!?" me wondering

My Biggest Wonder is if this eventually qualifies as among the Top 10 Worst Contracts Ever, in MLB History.

From a Team Perspective, of course. As D. Price: Definitely among the BEST Contracts ever negotiated.

it might be the worst ever when all said and done, if he goes under the knife by the time he gets back it will be his option year to pick up the rest of the contract and there is noway he wont exercise it bc he will have had nothing to fall back on as far as performance. so the redsox are on the hook for the whole thing. oyeeeee!!

i stopped going to games bc i think its absurd the way these teams waste money and pass it on to fans in the form of $10 draft fu-king beers, its ridiculous. i dont watch or go anymore. i just follow on sports radio here in the city.....they dont get a cent out of me anymore

I hope so Husker. But without the big Ortiz bat in the middle I think this lineup is gonna look very ordinary. The pitchers are going to need to hold their own this year. Think he's gonna need to shave .50 points off last year's 3.99 ERA to get to 16 wins this year. If he loses any games to health issues (albeit not likely) he will have a hard time getting there.

'Course I'm biased. I never liked this signing.

Extremely Great Analysis, especially for so few words....IMO....Didn't Seem "Biased" at all, to me at least: The Opposite of Bias. :toast:

Full Disclosure: I Bet On David Price and I Lose. So on occasion I'll Switch That Up, say to myself: "yeah, I'm gonna get Revenge Here..."

'n That Ass pitches a Gem. :(

Interesting Stuff: Price signed his first professional contract on August 15, 2007 with The Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Teams are today not allowed to be called "Satanic Words" so now they're just "The Rays". This will only last as long as it takes for guys named 'Ray" to throw a Hissy Fit. D. Price's Initial 6-year contract was worth $11.25 million ($8.5 million guaranteed), including a $5.6 million signing bonus.

Though Price was drafted in the 19th round by the Los Angeles Dodgers out of high school, he did not sign, and instead chose to attend Vanderbilt University on an academic scholarship. He pitched for Vandy for three seasons.

Frustrated with his college workload, Price almost quit baseball to work at a McDonald's in his hometown but was talked out of it by his coach, Tim Corbin.

In the summer of 2006, Price helped the United States take home the gold medal in the World University Baseball Championship held in Cuba. In eight starts for the United States, Price was 5–1 with a 0.20 ERA.

Price won several major national awards, including college baseball's top honor, the 2007 Dick Howser Trophy,[SUP][2][/SUP] and the 2007 Brooks Wallace Award. David Price was the first player to have a clean sweep of all the college baseball awards.

Price allowed a home run to Derek Jeter, which was Jeter's 3,000th career hit. O
n July 9, 2011.

In 2012, Price went 20–5 on the season (tying for the league lead in wins) with a league-leading 2.54 ERA, two main reasons why he won the AL Cy Young Award.

Nice. :toast:

Cuz Eventual Destination of Millions of Guys copying you, with that ^^^ = The Death of PlumbAss Stupid Contracts such as this.

The Environment of The BallPark, during a Game? Its "Us", American to The Core and especially for Us Americans that are serious Sports Fans and them magnified further for Us Degens who've made a Bet on the damn game. So I do really admire this stance of yours.

Partly from a "Degen Selfishness" cuz what I see, what I feel like My Own Experience has been, as result of the way way way too much money paid to players is I Cash Fewer Bets. I Lose More cuz Players are not "coming though"....with Key Hits...and I feel like many times these players aren't really trying cuz Multi-Millionaires?: So Much More to Life than hitting a fuckkin Baseball. But on occasion?

I need them to do that, to have that be their Priority.

I do wonder though, if I am not manufacturing an Excuse for me own Inability as a Baseball Capper to Respect how much Tougher Pitching has Become. Compared to days gone by.

Only thing I really know for sure is that making money at Baseball has become harder for me. I really wanna blame it on this Flood of $$$$ to Players thus them Fat & Happy 'n Baseball now being "an inconvenience" to them, a thing that interferes with their Lifestyles of The Rich & Famous....thus them Failing more than they would if they were "HUNGRY"

like Ty Cobb....Ted Williams...Jimmy Foxx, Carlton Fisk, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, (Players of The Past, before $$$$$ Curse got Inserted)

Whether thats True or Not: My Baseball Betting road has become a Ragged Ass Bumpy as Fuck Dirt Road where I too often wind up in the barren dirty bathroom of an abandoned Gas Station puking compared to that Paved Highway and Buffet Breakfastses that my baseball betting path used to be is bcuz Fat & Happy "Give Zero Fucks about succeeding at Baseball" Rich Guys don't care....

Its a Conversation that should be had.

Impact upon +EV Life, Advent of massive $$$ transforming Dudes into Rich Men...Impact upon them poor Degenerates who were making money Gambling and anticipated they would be able to Continue That Forever?

Like a Rolling Bowling Ball?

"Inertia." (To Incorporate Science.)

Many Classes of People, Groups etc. have been WRONGED on this Planet, throughout History.

Practically ALL of those Groups have received Acknowledgment from The World, for the terrible Injustice they suffered.

Except for The Degenerate Gambler. Bratty Billionaire Owners and their Millionaire Pretenders (baseball players) who've lost their Hunger

and OBLIGATION to try as hard as they can to Hit a Fuggin Baseball:

These things Have caused Harm to Degenerate Gamblers. :(

by way of serious Reduction of their Win % when betting Baseball. :( :(

No Conversation about this at all though. Its like No One even cares about us at all.

In 10 postseason starts, his team has lost every single one, and he's losing this one.

That is because it is impossible to pitch worse
2-9 5.28 ERA

Show me a bad pitcher with worse stats who has pitched 40 or more innings in the playoffs. I doubt you can

Those 2 wins are in relief, his era as a starter is even worse

1 thing I like about the Astros is they don't play that analytics bullshit.

Cole has given up 5 runs & he's still pitching in the 6th.

Craig Councell in game 1 used Josh Hader for 3 innings 50 pitches.

Then yesterday tight 1 run game you can't use the guy.

Same shit with dumb ass Dave Roberts.
