They're not going to be thrilled with you putting on 2K miles on the car but as long as you don't drive it into Mexico you'll be fine and won't have any issues.

Don't worry about the mileage. The vast majority of rentals are unlimited. Ask about traveling to other states, as they say you can go to UT, AZ, CA, which I think covers you.

I once rented a car and returned 24 hours later and the guy asked me, did you just drive it around for 24 hours, as I put 700 miles on it.

Also, when I rent in LV, I usually probably only put 150 miles on the car in a week.

The mileage is not a problem, your only concern and not from an insurance standpoint, but just find out about the out of state travel.

Now you're talking ! :toast::toast:

I don't see going outside of Az, CA and NV ( which you fail to mention, but I assume), Utah as a longshot.

Basically and honestly....I'm screwing the rental company with excessive mileage, I know that much !.... "chacun ses gouts"

However this is why I need the car, so if they underprice it, it ain't my fault !, and I'll buy it, "so to speak" !

I can't drive from Hartford.

I'm not unfair, I state my intentions upfront !

actually I'm not certain of terms, so your point ( BAS) is very valid.

I assume I can take a rental car across state lines w/o a problem....it must be so ? It's not a rental scooter your supposed to keep within the confines of Miami Beach, after all ?

I can certainly see not taking it ( rental car), to Mexico.... without added insurance being required !

However consider me... I live in Ct a small state ( 3rd smallest state).

Say my car gets wrecked, ins. co. gives me a rental, while they fix my car.

I'm within 100 miles of the bordering states of NY,Mass, and RI.

I can then only legally drive that rental within CT ?

I think not !

I never said you couldn't leave the State, of Course You can Drive Cross Country if that is your Wish !!

I was ONLY talking about what Might be Covered in unlimited mileage Plans.

I won't really do that, but I might rent a car for 10 days, and throw up to 3k miles on it !

I'm thinking it might not be a great idea to ask when the car needs its' next scheduled oil change, when you rent it ?

I have driven from Las Vegas to Idaho AND back .....put 3k miles in the car in a week or so........

Just last week I drove from Denver to South Dakota.....several attractions ....Wyoming and through Nebraska for .....135 dollars......(no insurance as my credit card offers insurance....limited but good enough)

Bottom line it totally depends......some agencies rent with a limited amount of miles....some others unlimited IF car remains in certain states.......some totally unlimited......

You will have to shop around and check the fine print of every single location in Las Vegas (both at the airport and off the airport.....those stupid airport facility fees and other BS fees do add up)
