I was pointing to the UConn connection, and I feel Gay will have the same kind of impact in the league...I have known about Rudy Gay (being from the area) since he was a soph in high school...I don't see Gay being a long range bomber like Allen, and to say he would be that kind of long range scorer in general would be a reach because Allen is one of the top 3-4 long range bombers in the history of the league.

So are you saying that he plays a similar style of game to Ray Allen?

I will have to think a bit more on who I feel Gay is the most similar too.

Jefferson was a good comparison

Jefferson is a very good comparison...I think Gay will be better overall offensive player though...Jefferson is just as athletic , if not more so and probably will always be a better defender.

Selected after junior season by the Houston Rockets in the First Round (13th pick overall) of the 2001 NBA Draft

Either way its always the highlite of the year for a Raptor fan. Aslong as Toronto doesn't draft a Brazilian i'll be alright with whoever.

I know back in the day the NBA draft was very interesting, now it has almost become an afterthought, to even diehard NBA fans.

Is anyone really looking forward to the NBA draft, and why?

"And with the 45th selection the Knicks select Carl Krauser Pitt" :pucking:

Never gave it alot of thought but yes, over last 6 or 7 years, diminishing interest in this. Back in 80's and 90's got all fired up for it now I couldn't care less! Also agree with Morrison comment, wouldn't touch him with a top 15 pick maybe 20. Might be a good year to gamble on a big man, maybe guy from Bradley? - forget his name, couple of others I'll think of later but not a great draft this year.
