I'm actually kinda surprised nobody has hired Skip or StephenA to run a team.

Pretty obvious move. Whenever I hear those guys analyze the game I'm in awe of them.

these guys would always make the most ridiculous comments. I stopped listening to them a few season ago, guess they are now backing up their opinions with stats atleast

I'll take Bird anyday, at least 10 players I'd take before LeCunt James

Those guys are hard to watch for 15 minutes. I skipped ahead to the graphic they had and it was based entirely on their age 30 season. Completely meaningless if we are trying to compare their entire careers

Care to let us know if they gave any other stats in the video that could perhaps offer meaningful insight

if you don't take bird over lebron you're either too young or too stupid

This is good. Skip shrugged it off pretty well, easy to do so when everyone thinks you're a joke anyway. 5:55 or so is the best part

"What were the schemes Skip?"

"Ibaka was supposed to come HARD!"

Steven A Smith 7:50 mark, "Larry Bird walked into the NBA with a winning attitude... that we haven't seen from LeBron James to be quite honest (8:51)"

I too would take Bird over Lebron but in response to the above comment.....Bird was like 23 when he came into the NBA and LeBron was 18 I believe. There's a world of difference there.

Lebron looks so good for periods of time, but really does have a tendency to disappear and he did it again late in game 3

For some reason he looks to defer when he should be taking charge, and that's the biggest difference between LBJ and most of the other greats

comparing lebron to jordan is very similar to comparing crosby to mario or gretzky. everyone loves to think their their current star is the best of all time but those that actually watch the game know the difference. there is nothing wrong with being a top 10 or top 15 player of all time but every generation doesn't have the #1 guy like they want them to be.

nhl has been pretty much devoid of a true superstar for 20 years....same with nba. neither can admit it so need to "over"-elevate current players way beyond their actual ability. Crosby and Malkin and Jagr were all great players but none of them are anywhere near the true greats of NHL just as Lebron is nowhere near the top 5 players of all time.

just like MLB pushing Mike Trout into Mays/Aaron/Ruth/Bonds/etc status. silly

Pretty much in agreement here...

For NBA players in my lifetime, over the last 40 years, I'd rank the top 5 like this:

1. MJ
Tie for 2,3: Larry Bird, Magic
4. Kobe
5. LeBron

on the flip side many older chaps like to cling to past heroes, sacrilegious to even suggest a modern player is comparable. Notice no definition of 'true' superstar in the above. Rather, vagueness and of course ' but those that actually watch the game know the difference' :). How about those that PLAYED the game at the highest level? A compliment to a surgeon from a fellow surgeon will carry more weight than that of a non-surgeon. BOTH Lemieux and Gretzky have called Crosby a 'generational' player. Now, i concede, they didn't use the term 'true' superstar

Crosby is 5th in pts/game ever. Playing in an era of less goals/per game. Various factors have contributed to that- size of goalie equipment, a deeper NHL- 4th liners today are better than decades ago. The NHL extracts our planet's best from around the globe more aggressively than 30 yrs ago.

Gretzky's vision had no equal. One on one skills and pure talent give me Lemieux. Sid, of the three, has the least 'natural' talent. But the best work ethic. Tougher , willingness to battle in the corners, a two-way player

Sid's resume is still filling. He has won 2 gold medals. Gretzky had a chance failed terribly in the gold medal game - they even passed on him in the shootout. Gretz never won a Cup once he left Edmonton. In fact, the Oilers won a cup WITHOUT him. Lemieux won 2 Stanley Cups, Sid can pass him win with another victory over Nashville. Let's not forget Lemieux had the 'C' on his jersey on one of the deepest teams in NHL history (1993) which included the likes of; R Francis, J Jagr, J Mullen, K Stevens , L Murphy, Tocchet, Straka, U Sameulson) and CHOKED as a huge fav vs the Islanders. Now this paragraph is not meant to slight Gretz/Mario,but rather to remind all that the 'greats of the past' are not without their failures....time has a tendency for us to put the past greats on pedal stools

Anyone else think LeBron is going to be sitting on the bench with 5:00 left in the 4th, a towel over his head and the Cavs down 17 tonight?
