The writing had been on the wall, but it sounds like we can go ahead and set this in stone. Bush has missed the last seven games with a broken fibula but will look to provide a jolt to a running back corps that's been decimated by injuries. However, we wouldn't expect a full complement of touches right away even with Pierre Thomas likely out again this week.

Thomas has reportedly returned to practice, but it sounds like he's not doing much. The Saints will get Reggie Bush back this week, but with Thomas and Chris Ivory still out, the running back corps is still in shambles. It sounds like Thomas is taking baby steps and will avoid injured reserve, but his recovery has been painfully slow.

Thomas was officially a non-participant once again for Thursday's practice. He's been in full pads and taking part via individual drills, though he's not been included in team drills or full-speed activities. Thomas won't play against the Seahawks, but he's made encouraging progress in the past week and a half. There's a chance that he'll play next week.

Per coach Sean Payton, Bush will be "all in" should he play and would also return punts. Payton added that he thinks "there's a good chance that (Bush playing) happens." Beat writer Jeff Duncan's gut feeling is that Bush will be a go, and owners would be trusting their own should they play Bush, given that the Saints play at 4:05ET. Bush is a flex option only in PPR leagues.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=bodyCopy>Pierre Thomas actually has a torn tendon in his left ankle, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.</TD></TR><TR><TD>
clear.gif
</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>This explains what has taken Thomas so long to get back in action. Thomas probably should have had surgery to repair the tendon, but that window has passed now. Schefter says Thomas is hoping to play on Thanksgiving against the Cowboys, but previous reports have him targeting Week 13 instead. Thomas remains a bench stash in fantasy. The unimpressive play of the Saints' backfield in his absence leaves a big opportunity late in the year.

Ladell Betts (head/neck) is also listed as out. Reggie Bush figures to be the team's passing-down back with Chris Ivory hogging early-down work against the Cowboys. Bush and Ivory are risky flex/low-end RB2 plays.

His return hurts the value of Chris Ivory, though Ivory should receive more carries than Bush and will be the goal-line back.
