I wonder if Lillard being snubbed from the All-Star game is a Terry Stotts conspiracy to get Lillard to play even better than his "MVP conversation-caliber" year so far. Lillard said he feels "disrespected" can't blame him. After seeing how he responded from Team USA's rejection...I'm nervous for every other Western Conference team. Guys, as individuals, improve their game in the offseason because of how grueling the NBA
schedule is it makes sense. I don't expect any dramatic improvement in his game but with so much of the game being mental I can't help but think he will use this as motivation to get even better...
I care way more than I should about this, I know.
...surprised Conley isn't an All-Star...John Wall is playing shooting guard in the Allstar game...they can find spots for Lillard and Conley on the Western Conference team. I love Durant but he shouldn't be on the team it matters how many games a player plays in. If a player plays excellently in a couple games but misses every other game, should he go to the All-Star game? Conley has scored 730 points on 45.6% shooting 41.9% from three, 237 assists, 49 steals, 142 rebounds and he has lead his team to having the 2nd best record in the West and 3rd best overall. Durant's played in half as many games as Conley so naturally he can't compare statistically and his team is the 10th best in the West- or 6th worst in the west. Lillard's play has been tremendous and he's been the consistent force keeping Portland...consistent. With Robin Lopez, Aldridge, and Batum missing time. Putting Coney and Lilard on the team means taking 2 off- for me taking Durant off is a no brainer because he has missed more games than hes played and I think Lillard should go over Cousins. Yup, taking off a SF and C and adding 2 guards. If Wall is playing SG then Harden can definitely fill in as a SF. Westbrook and Lillard would play as SGs- and Paul and Conley and Curry as the PGs.
SF- Klay Thompson, Harden
SG- Westbrook, Lillard
PG- Curry, Paul, Conley
Lebron is the starting PF for the East. He may have played PF a bit in Miami but not in Cleveland. I would love to know the number of minutes Lebron has played at PF...And Wall is the starting SG... I don't think the All-Star game has cared about voting guys in at their conventional positions and I don't see why it should be that way for the Western Conference this year.
