WASHINGTON (CNN) -- In a major victory for the White House, the Senate early Friday voted 77-23 to authorize President Bush to attack Iraq if Saddam Hussein refuses to give up weapons of mass destruction as required by U.N. resolutions.

Hours earlier, the House approved an identical resolution, 296-133.

The article linked in the post "I want to go home" began with the following quote:

quote:
I can see the signs in the US marines I am with outside Nasiriyah.

Quite a few of the troops have said to me that this isn't what they were expecting.

They have had a tiring week of guerrilla-style fighting and it continues.

They are frustrated that their political masters gave the American public the impression that it would be easier than it's turned out to be.

It was written by a BBC reporter who is with the Marines. Is that your new strategy?... "I don't agree with it so of course it must be false".

No... but that is your and your ilk's strategy "I don't agree with it so of course it must be false" or spin or propaganda.

>It was written by a BBC reporter

Simply because you kill doesn't mean you're succeeding!!!
If anything, it means you are failing to do what Bushies say that we are doing: liberate.

>liberate

Never heard Bush say he wanted to liberate combatants loyal to Saddam that didnt surrender. Where did you see/hear that?

Are you sure those numbers don't include civilians?
It seems all very Orwellian, the idea of perpetual war for perpetual peace.
Have you a link for that info? I'd like to read up on it.

Here you go Frank, Richard Pearl, 7/11/02.

we have the ability to remove Saddam Hussein and his regime. And it will be quicker and easier than many people think. He is far weaker than many people realize.

Full interview is linked below.

Again for you liberals: List anybody in the Bush's Administration who said Operation Iraqi Freedom would be over in "days" or that it would be "easy" or it would be a "cakewalk."
