I had a great inspector that I used in Florida on 3 houses. He was so detailed, sent pictures of everything....he even found a small nail sticking out on the roof and put a orange "flag" around it.
I bought the current house I'm living in (in Arlington, VA) about 4+ years ago....my realtor recommended an inspector. The guy was a useless piece of shit! The DAY I MOVED IN the power went out in my basement! The first time I used my AC it didn't work (he said he couldn't inspect it because it was March and it was cold outside..WTF??). Anyhow, it was a lesson learned. I will do my homework on a home inspector before taking a realtor's recommendation.
