Don't do it...Don't do it...Don't do it!!!!!

Take a closer look at how many points this supposed great raven defense has been allowing as of late, those that actually watched their last game against the Colts know that the final score was VERY misleading as baltimore only lost by 10 but should of lost by 24.

The raven defense is definately not as good as Pittsburghs and the Steeler offense is heads and shoulders better than what the ravens have and especially at the QB position....Offense versus Defense of these teams is a BIG mismatch.

The Steelers are playing at home where they have played their best ball and laying only -5 is a GIFT and especially since New England lost which means that Pittsburgh has no pressure to win, the ravens on the other hand are in a "Must Win" situation and that is NOT a good position to be in when playing on the road with an idiot like Kyle Boller under center and leading your team........Pittsburgh will win this easily and get the last laugh on baltimore for the earlier season loss by effectively knocking the ravens from playoff contention!!

Have a very Merry Christmas!!

Come on. You don't believe what you wrote do you? Indy got 10 of their 20 points on a short field. They blocked a FG to set up a 30 yard drive and they picked off Boller in the last minute of the first half to get a FG. I hope you aren't thinking the Colts should have scored with a minute to go when Manning took a knee. That also was set up by a Boller int. Where are the other 14 points they should have scored? The Ravens and Steelers don't like each other at all. I can tell you the Ravens dominated the first game between the two as they ran it down the Steelers throats. 30-13 is misleading as the Steelers scored late in mop up time. The Ravens also will go at Joey Porter for the blatant cheap shot he gave Todd Heap the first game. This will be a 3 point game either way. Lets hope Plexiglass is playing as he and McAllister really hate each other. It should be a fun game.

I made the statement that the ravens should of lost against the Colts by 24 instead of by 10 because of the fact that the Colts attempted three FG's in that game and missed one of the attempts.

"IF" and I repeat "IF" one of those FG attempts had been a TD instead of a FG and "IF" the normally dependable Vanderjack had not missed the one FG and "IF" the INT Kyle Boller tossed had been returned for a TD at the games end instead of the Colts DB being ruled as stepping out of bounds which led to Manning and company taking a knee and running the clock out...the Colts would have scored an additional 11 points and won by a 21 point margin, had the other FG been a TD instead of a FG the margin of victory would have been by 25 for the Colts.

I do realize the above takes into consideration alot of "IF's", however, the point of the matter is that the ravens lost to Indy by 10 points and in doing so FAILED to cover the posted spread, I was merely pointing out that the final margin of victory for the Colts could have been ALOT more.

If you are a raven fan you should be really disturbed by the fact that the raven offense only mustered 10 points against a Colt defense that is ranked 28th overall in the NFL with individual rankings of 21st against the run and 29th against the pass!!

But then the raven offense is TERRIBLE as evidenced by ranking 30th overall in the NFL with individual rankings of 9th in rushing and 31st in passing....The Steelers defense is tops in the NFL with regard to only allowing 81 rushing yards a game, with this in mind it only makes sense that the ravens will have to throw the ball with success against Pittsburgh if they hope to have a chance at winning this game.

However, Pittsburgh's defense is ranked 1st overall in the NFL with individual rankings of 1st overall in the league against the run and is ranked 4th overall in the league against the pass.

PLEASE explain to me how raven QB Kyle Boller is going to be able to lead his team to a victory on the road in noisy Pittsburgh with his 31st ranked passing offense going against the Steelers 4th ranked pass defense when Boller couldn't get it done against the Colts 29th ranked pass defense!

Pittsburgh has a very balanced offense and plays their best at home as evidenced by going undefeated at Heinz field this season, in the Steelers last four home games they have defeated the Jets, the Skins, the Eagles, and the Pats by a combined score of 94-36 which is an average margin of victory of 24-9....and all four of Pittsburgh's prior opponents at home listed above are better overall teams than baltimore.

Sure, the ravens won the last two meetings, but remember that both of those meetings took place in baltimore and that Pittsburgh had won the previous five straight games played in this series prior to that.

The ravens were very fortunate to have defeated Pittsburgh in week 2 this year, let's remember that the ravens knocked Steeler QB Tommy Maddox out of the game when Maddox suffered an injury to his right elbow, this led to rookie QB "Big Ben" taking the field for the very first time.

This time around "Big Ben" is not the starry eyed rookie coming off of the bench in week two, with regard to the supposed "Cheap Shot" that Steeler LB Joey Porter applied to raven TE Todd Heap answer me this...WHY was Heap on the field of play if he was injured in the first place?

What did the ravens expect Joey Porter or for that matter ANY other Steeler or ANY player in the league to do? Should Porter of NOT hit Todd Heap who was lined up in the TE position for the play in question? Give me a break...Heap was at the line of scrimmage and the ball was snapped, if he or the ravens thought he could of been injured further than he shouldn't been on the field to begin with!

In closing, the Steelers will indeed win this game and will make it look easy, as a side prop you might want to check the odds on total INT's by Kyle Boller as I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him toss two and quite possibly three picks.

Have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Im getting fed up being wrong about The Ravens and here we go again this Week. Listening to the pre-game Steelers show on radio last Week, the commentators pointed out the concerns they had going into the Giants game. Their concerns were well founded as Pitt struggled against what everybody considers a dreadful Team. The Linebacking position is again under pressure and The Ravens will have no trouble running the ball.

However, this is not how they will win the game. That will be done by an emerging superstar QB in Boller taking advantage of a pathetic Secondary throwing to his under-rated WRs.

win...are you serious?......i live in b`more...and the receivers are the worst in football.....

and anybody that saw all the passes that boller threw behind receivers last week, has to realize the guy is still a long way away from being a good pro qb...

i agree that attacking the squeeler secondary is the way to beat them.....unfortunately,the worst pass offense in the league won`t be able to accomplish that....

the steelers have a balanced offense....they will be able to run on the raven defense...much like the titans did in last year`s playoff game...we have an undersized, pedestrian defensive line...

my ravens shouldn`t even be in the playoff hunt...if not for a gift brainfart by herm edwards and the jets attempting a halfback pass in the redzone that ed reed intercepted, this game wouldn`t mean a thing...and that game the jets played without pennington....

the ravens aren`t for real...they lost at home to k.c....cleveland and cincy....

they are living off their rep.....this team has not improved one iota from last year....name one new impact player....deion?...lol...

Sphincter,

You are of course correct in all you say and no, I am not serious. Its just every time I have posted how a game will play out this Year, the exact opposite has happened, so I thought I would go the ridiculous approach this Week.

Deb,

In regards to Heap. He was on the field as the Ravens completed a pass to get in FG range right before halftime. He got hurt on the play and limped back in position so Boller could down the ball and the Ravens could kick a FG. If he doesn't limp back into position and goes down, there is a 10 second run off and the half ends. No points. The only chance they had to score was Heap getting back onsides and Boller spiking the ball. They kicked the FG and scored the points. It was obvious the Ravens were downing the ball but tough guy Joey (shoot me in the as*) Porter decided he'd give Heap a shove while Heap was standing on one leg. No other Steeler came across the line. Only tough guy Joey(Is that a bullet in your as* or are you happy to see me) Porter. It was legal but it was a cheap shot. No doubt about it. If the Ravens are down and out on Sunday, watch how quick Cowher gets Porter out as the Ravens will go after him.

I wish it was before my time. Strange that you come out with that because I come from London, and although I do enjoy Boxing, that was the only Pro fight I ever went to.

this is revenge for pitt for their only loss of the year

we get a maximum effort and concentration here because of this. pitt knows a win here and next week is meaningless for they have the #1 AFC spot wrapped up and can take it easy next week.

i also think something that really needs to be looked at this week is the fact it is Xmas this weekend. for teams playing on sunday - this means traveling Xmas Day - or even earlier and having plans thrown off some by the Xmas Day festivities.

i know baltimore and pittsburgh aren't far apart so travel really won't be too much of a factor - but the ravens are somewhat overrated and pitt will be snarling here.

Pitt is the play for me!

Jacksorbetter...

What is so darned hard to understand with regard to WHY Steeler LB Joey Porter LEGALLY hit TE Todd Heap who was lined up on the line of scrimmage when the ball was snapped?

QB Kyle Boller did in fact spike the ball as you say, but how was Joey Porter to know that for sure? Was Porter also to assume that Heap was ACTUALLY hurt on the previous play? What if Heap had been playing "Possum" like alot of players have done in the past in order to throw their opponent off on the next play from scrimmage?

What if Boller had FAKED the spike like alot of QB's have done in games past and tossed the ball to Heap for a TD?

Your point is totally mute with regard to the Porter situation and only a raven homer would argue the point, I really can't blame you for feeling the way you do about the play in question because in the same senario I myself might be upset about the ways things worked out as well, however, you can't blame Porter for doing his job.

I find it quite ODD that you would bring up the issue about Porter being shot in the rump and would word the response as if Porter did something wrong which led to his being shot.

It might be a good idea to research your facts as the truth of the matter is that Porter was visiting Colorado to watch his former college team play and stopped at a tavern after the game for a few drinks, upon leaving the tavern shots were fired ACROSS the parking lot in an altercation that DID NOT INVOLVE Porter or anyone with Porter...Porter caught a stray bullet in the rump and of course missed playing against the ravens.

You want to talk about classless acts? Let's talk about how "He-Man" Ray Lewis attempted to make fun of the Porter situation with regard to his being shot by imitating the "Boot" which Joey Porter does following a sack on the opposing QB....Porter was injured and wasn't even on the field and "He-Man" Ray Lewis took a classless swipe at the man.

In retaliation, Joey Porter went after "He-Man Ray Lewis following the game by going directly to the raven team bus and challenged "He-Man" Ray Lewis to get off the bus...needless to say "He-Man" whimped out and wouldn't get off the bus and face Porter.

Its interesting that you view Porter as a bad guy when in fact the man has a clean record with regard to NEVER being in trouble with the law, Ray "He-Man" Lewis on the other hand was directly involved in a double murder in Atlanta and would have done serious jail time had his cronies not taken most of the blame which allowed "He-Man" to cop a plea bargain.

Then there is the issue of the other Lewis on the raven team that apparently likes to arrange drug buys between mutual friends, at one time the standing joke in the NFL used to surround the Dallas Cowboys who were known as the Dallas criminals because of the fact they had so many players involved with criminal activity....I think the ravens have taken that award with the Lewis boys.

Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Thanks for the kind words! I was talking to my brother on the phone earlier this morning, usually we get together and compare notes on the upcoming games and tell each other what our best bets of the week are.

Wanna hear something strange? My brother says his best bet is baltimore with the points because he thinks the Steelers with win by a FG, I asked him what he thought the final score would be and he said he projected a final of Pitt 20-16 and proceeded to say that he thinks Pitt will score two TD's plus two FG's to get the 20 and that the ravens will score one TD and kick three FG's to get their 16.

I said DUDE!! That is EXACTLY the way I see the game going with one small difference as I see Pittsburgh scoring a defensive TD and thus winning 27-16, we each wrote down our final projected score and bet $50 on the side on who would be closer to the total.

Thanks again for the kind words and have a very Merry Christmas!!
