dizz, wondering what you think about the northwestern/minnesota game? I saw on ESPN that Northwestern QB is likely out for Saturday....the game is in Minnesota.....right now the line is at 6.5... you see any value here? Can anyone confirm the injury?
I certainly am no RanDizzle but I would like to weigh in on this one. I'm a diehard NU fan, watched every game this year and been to two of them. They lost their Running Back Tyrell Sutton last week to a wrist injury. He's getting cut tommorow and is done for the year.
The QB, C.J Bacher, pulled up lame with a hamstring at the end of the Indiana game last week. He is listed as questionable. I'd be absolutely shocked if he played this week.
If he doesn't go, it would be Junior Matt Kafka getting the nod at QB. He started about five games as a Freshman before losing the job to Bacher in 2006. He is a lot different than Bacher. He would be running the ball a lot more than C.J has done historically (although C.J has been running the ball a lot more than usual the last two weeks.) Some NU fans are optimistic about the new game plan we would see this week with more of a running QB.
I love my Wildcats, but I'm realistic. I think Minnesota -6.5 would be a great bet. The Gophers are riding a high right now. They seem to be playing with a new level of confidence since the win in Champaign against Illinois. Northwestern had their hearts broken last week. They went from being ranked #22 in the BCS and playing for a New Years Day bowl, to wondering if they will win another game this year. I have a lot of respect for the Northwestern student-athletes, but I think this is too much for them to over come. I hope I'm wrong, but I think Minnesota is the play this week. Hope this is helpful. I know you were asking Dizz, but I get excited when NU is being discussed. Sorry.
