walked 9 miles, shot a 64 after finishing his 2nd round 65 which included an ace on one of the toughest holes in the world, and gets tossed by a faulty test used to tell him he's got a flu with no symptoms.

welcome to 2021 and don't think for a second this isn't a ploy to scare you into getting the jab as they dropped the news with 5 cameras confronting him walking off the green after knowing for 2 hours he "tested positive". Shit only thing that was missing was Dustin Hoffman in a hazmat suit spraying clorox in his face while Kevin Spacey applied the thumb cuffs to drag him into the locker room.

Wait'll XiNN drops a headline like "golfer loses out of $1.6M because he's an anti-vaxxer". That'll teach ya

Reading this thread is just another reason why one should NOT BET with a local or offshore? How will offshores handle this? I have no skin in this.

Rahm tickets will be a loser at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, as the house rules state that a ticket is action once a golfer starts the round. The Rahm wager was also a loser at Circa Sports in Las Vegas.

Offshores should treat all Rahm bets as a loss - he didn't win - if they want the good publicity then they should pay both Cantlay and Rahm - but Rahm won - and if Cantlay wanted to become an instant fan favorite he would youtube himself packaging up the trophy and mailing it to Rahm and accept 2nd - probably make 100 fold in endorsements

Rahm didnt win. I would hate to be a book right now.

If i were a book, id grade rahm as no bet so at least they didnt lose. He had a good chance to win but he didnt win.

of course he didnt win. His paycheck for The Memorial was $0. Cantley's name is on the trophy

any book that grades it as a win is doing so for goodwill

Really not different then any other withdrawal for medical reasons

He took a chance of playing knowing he could get tossed out with a positive test

yeah, but he didnt finish. Where do you place him?

looks like they will give him something;

Rahm will receive a stipend to mitigate costs of isolation and lost earnings, but that’s likely to be a negligible sum compared to the potential $1.674 million that Rahm could have taken home with a victory. Rahm has five tour wins, the last coming in August at the BMW Championship.

The PGA tour looks bad here. This isnt the early part of this covid pandemic, clearly. They allow fans there, a shit load of paying fans. Did they do any tests on those fans? if so, why not? they are potentially putting players at risk. Yet u disqualify a player?

And not one person in the golfing world has said a word, including the host of this storied tournament- Jack Nicklaus

they had a pro-am on Wed, huge money grab. Were the amateurs tested? if no , why not? Maybe Jon got it then? sure its possible . Why do they have the same stringent covid policies as 6 mths ago , yet r comfortble allowing pro-ams and fans in?

The PGA Tour walks on water, they have no real competition . And no one speaks agasint them, not even jack

Most new legal books outside of NV in US payed out as a win. I had to beg my one offshore and they eventually credited me as a win but not sure if they did for others. Classless move by the Vegas books to grade as loss but that’s why I will never play there.

I don’t have an issue with what PGA did here the rules are the rules as Rahm knew this going into the tourney as he was a close contact. I do believe that should have been made public earlier in the week so everyone knew there was a chance this could happen and could wager accordingly. Maybe thats why the books paid out since the player didn’t know this risk was out there (nor did the books for that matter). That’s my only issue with the pga on this one. There was no alternative (ie play by yourself etc those are just ignorant comments). Also saying this is an anti vaccine strategy also ignorant but hey many people live on these conspiracy theories so whatever floats your boat.

Played it with two locals. One local left it a loss. The other gave me a Bonus Play for half the value of the potential win.

Can’t make this hoax up

Golfer Jon Rahm famously got pulled out of a tournament he was winning a month or two ago, got fully vaccinated & just tested positive again after 3 PCR tests — the third turning up positive.
