we used to bust out alot of business' and one of our guys kids alerted us to a gas station owner that had personal crisis and had no clue about the finances of his gas station, we had the kids tune the guy up for 6 figures over several months before he came out from under the ether. after he threatened the kid we let him know that we knew about what he was doing on the side and that he and everyone involved in that were about to get to get come down on like a ton of bricks. we paid the kid in weed for his effort and chopped up the dough. how come he didnt send some Dsethi type after us, hmmm?

A Honda Civic? Good Lord ....
If you're only putting in 11 gals on average then you probably have an air pocket in the tank that prevents the last 2-3 gals from going in. You probably parked a little differently (slight angle) that allowed the air bubble to escape and fill that tank completely. My guess is you'll get a lot more miles on this tank than you usually get.
That or the gas station is screwing with you. Possible, but I doubt it.

Hey guy...Its possible that you might have been pumping gas into your car....Seriously. In certain conditions that occur on hot days and i believe during and after the time the tanks are re-filled..(the tanks that store gas at the gas station)...There is a situation that occurs where by you pump more fumes than actual liquid into your vehicle. Or to be precise out of the gas pump.

This might be the cause.

Hot weather is a factor as well to set this condition

It's bad to completely empty your tank (so I've heard). Beyond the obvious of stranding yourself, you'll let floating things get into the engine.

The less gas in your tank the better. Takes gas to haul that extra fuel around.

I always fill up my tank when i've been driving on E for like 50 miles and it always takes like 11.9 gallons. It's never been even close to 14 gallons before. I've never even seen it at 12 gallons.

I don't believe in the always have a half-tank or more theory, but I wouldn't test the empty light for 50 miles either ! ( unless I was really testing it, and had a can of gas in the trunk).
