you have to remember that Purdue guards the perimeter just as good if not better. Plus that is Duke strength shooting the 3. While Purdue relies on it they have a more diverse offense. They also have stronger post presences, and the one factor that will decide the game HOME COURT ADVANTAGE.

home court in cbb is the most decisive advantage you will find in all of sports. Home court means everything in games such as these. I have said it plenty of times. Not just b/c of the momentum and adrenaline that is gained from screaming fans, but home teams always shoot at a higher % at home. The familiarity with shooting on the rims, background, depth perception, etc, etc, means everything. Teams like Duke that can't score easily down low, that rely on jump shots are hard to count on coming through on the road for the factors I listed above. I think tonight will be a prime example of just how important home court advantage is in cbb. I have made my money betting home dogs, or home teams in general in this sport over the years. I know for a fact that there is a huge advantage to playing at home and wagering on home teams. I don't think Purdue is getting credit for just how good they really are. This team has far less holes than Duke, and playing at home is icing on the cake.

Bingo, bingo, bingo.

Besides, I really think Purdue is the better team here to begin with. Like you said, home court is just icing on the cake.

One other thing -- people outside the Midwest don't realize how tough it is to play in Mackey Arena when Purdue has a solid squad. Fans are right on top of the action. Lastly -- we all know that Duke gets everyone's best shot... Purdue wins this one by 8-10.

I haven't done it yet, but I have never heard anyone say anything good about it. Probably just wishful thinking the line was better. Seemed like a huge risk for little reward. Thanks for the post.

yes please do yourself a favor and never ever even consider teasing cbb. you will be thankful in the long run. gl

I agree homecout is huge in college basketball. However, Duke is the most well coached teams in the country and have played in places much louder then it will be tonight. Purdue will definitley be LOUD tonight but this is a team that has to go to UNC in that rivalry game and they won't back down.

I think the difference tonight is Coach K coaching vs a young team.

Good luck with your play HD im heading to the bar to watch tonights games. Should be a fun night for CBB.

:toast:

i do agree coach K is the best coach in the country. his teams ALWAYS play 110%. Matt Painter is no slouch though. An extremely good young coach imo.

UNC fans are known for being quiet throughout games, but like I said noise is not a factor, it's the shooting % that is gained from playing at home. Enjoy the game, I know I will:toast:

Is anyone going to mention the total?

Watching it fall isnt that fun!! LOL

I Love it!

saw 149.5 this morning, no one is getting that now!!!

You know why!!?

Well i know im pissing on the Over and thinking Purdue is a bit more Defensively than THIS Duke team may be able to dump 75 on with any ease IMO!!

Isnt this a race to 70 type game?

71-70 is on my mind here, but i guess well see how it works out, but the Under seems like a feasible play to me IMO, and the more they bring it down, the more i hope im right!!
