George Floyd protester flies off cop car in California, video shows

A man in California was injured when he was flung off the hood of a police cruiser during protests over the death of George Floyd.

Video taken during the wild protests show the man clinging to front of the California Highway Patrol cruiser Wednesday and then falling to the pavement.

Other protesters — who were marching along a Los Angeles freeway – rush to help the man as he lay motionless.

He was later seen in another video flashing the thumbs-up sign as he’s carted away in an ambulance. His condition is unclear.

The protesters stopped traffic on the 101 Freeway, smashing the windows of police cruisers during rush hour before dispersing, NBC Los Angeles reported.

They were rallying over George Floyd, the black man who died this week after a white Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck.

George Floyd protests turn deadly after man shot outside pawn shop

A man was shot dead outside a Minneapolis pawn shop Wednesday night as violent protests over the death of George Floyd rattled the city, authorities said.

Minneapolis cops are investigating reports that the victim was a looter shot dead by an owner of the business, police department spokesman John Elder said at press briefing early Thursday.

The man was found with a gunshot wound outside Cadillac Pawn and Jewelry on East Lake Street near Bloomington Avenue at about 9:25 p.m. local time, Elder said.

“That is one of the theories that we’re working into,” Elder said in response to a reporter questioning if there’s any credence to the narrative that the owner shot dead a looter trying to break into his store.

“As I said, the body was found outside. And we have a couple of different scenarios as to what may have happened,” Elder told reporters.

Elder said police have a suspect in custody and that the incident is being investigated as a homicide.

He noted that the shooting occurred “close to the area of protests” over the death of Floyd, a black man who died in police custody.

Floyd was seen on viral video being pinned down by a white Minneapolis police officer, yelling, “I can’t breathe” before he died.

Protests over his death escalated Wednesday night, with demonstrators looting a Target and lighting fires that severely damaged several buildings, including an AutoZone store.

Crowds on Wednesday also gathered at the Minneapolis Police Department’s 3rd Precinct for a second consecutive day, with some vandalizing the building.

Elder condemned the chaos that unfolded Wednesday night.

“This isn’t how you do it,” he said. “It’s so disrespectful and it’s heartbreaking — it really is. People are utilizing this as a purpose to just make bad decisions.”

Across the country, hundreds of people also marched in Los Angeles to protest Floyd’s death, blocking traffic on a local freeway and smashing the windows of several California Highway Patrol cruisers.

But not all demonstrations were violent. A group of protesters on Wednesday peacefully danced in the street at the intersection where Floyd was being arrested.

You mean, popping up in Democratic cities right?

Yes, my apologies.......that's actually a strong point in this matter.

Left-wing democratic states........& they will be the last to open up their states from a lockdown.

Although the rioters are wearing the correct face masks, but I don't see much social distancing, lol.

Autopsy could show he got shot in the head a day earlier. Cops still are guilty. You can’t sit on someone’s neck against the ground while cuffed and expect they’re going to be good after 8 minutes of that.

The Eric garner shit was a stroke or heart attack caused by the police’s unnecessary force. Whatever the autopsy shows, the cops still had a direct impact on his death in both cases.

Hey, I’m not saying they didn’t, however, all I’m saying is that knee didn’t do anything but make him very uncomfortable. There’s only two ways to choke someone unconscious/dead, and that is to cut off blood to the brain, or air to the lungs, and that knee didn’t do either...

Unneccesary force, sure, probably, but it didn’t kill him. Cop is still a POS, though, and highly untrained...

maybe they should arrest and charge the cop with "making a criminal feel very unformattable" - though that might not go ever well with the crowds there - like I said, there are reports that he was extremely fucked up - if the autopsy says he died of a lethal mix of drugs I just don't see legally how the cop could ever be convicted of anything under the murder statute - that would be uno problemo muy grande

I don't know Seymour. Say he was on drugs. He still wouldn't have died without the cop's interaction with him that day. He'd just be high.

It will be interesting to see what the cop is charged with because I don't thing it's murder......voluntary manslaughter possible, even involuntary........

Manslaughter will be the most they’ll get, and without the crowds, it’s a stretch. Silence the crowds though, right, silence the crowds...

I think they shouldn’t even do an autopsy - because if the coroners office says he did not die from strangulation - and that he died from a drug overdose - then I’m not leaving my condo for at least a month

Matty has a good point - after watching tons of MMA I have never seen anyone choked from the position
