I agree that if information that would save my life or my family's life could only be obtained by tourturing someone, then go ahead and torture them. But in 20 000 years of human existence things have never worked like that. And they certainly haven't worked like that in the eight years since 9/11

The best argument you can make is that our actions haven't done anything to stop them, they just did so of their own free will.

once the notion that a court doesnt decide your rights and that equality for all is a lie is totally understood
maybe the men that truly sit on a wall and protect can be left alone to do their job without being questioned
whatever the end may be, to gain intelligence or not, maybe they want to inflict pain
relatively certain that anything that has led some to believe it is counterproductive
havent gained this knowledge through practice but rather simulation or applying psycho babble
how would anyone know besides those using the methods whether it works or not?
