i actually think the tiger backers equate that whole episode as if tiger shot 59 at augusta 4 straight days.

No. I just don't really give a shit what kind of person he is or what he did........I like to watch him play golf cause he is better than everybody else. That's about it

Exactly.....

BTW....Phil is still a stiff....but the press won't say nothing about his NFL wagers....I am sure if Tiger wagered and lost something would have been said...

Sergio's best chance to win a Major comes this week....if he putts well, he can win.....but I think the crowd gets all over him if he is on top of the leaderboard...very few players can hit an iron as well as Sergio...I consider him in the top ten...

Always heard a story about Phil losing some golf bets at Augusta prior to the Masters and attempting to stiff some members. Story goes that Billy Payne sat him down and demanded he pay immediately.

No idea of its truth.

You think his best chance is this week with everything that's going on? I say he misses the cut

This is an old wise tale, started by Wilheim... Nobody has anything documented..How would that have worked offshore ? Somebody giving him credit.. Why would they give credit for someone thats a multimillionare anyway ? In the past, when I heard Phil talking about NFL superbowl wagers etc. they were made in Vegas... as far as Tiger is concerned, you sure he would pay, the guy is supposed to be the cheapest guy on the planet...

I happen to know where Lefty placed his wagers...take it from me, he is a stiff for over 6 figures...

Since you have this info, did a book take his credit somehow or did an individual ? maybe I'm naive, how does this work ? I guess if I'm rich and have a great family etc. why would I stiff someone and possibly put my family at risk ?

Phil doesn't even like to pay his taxes much less his bets...Everybody needs to get over the fact that these professional golfers are boy scouts. I've even heard that mild mannered Matt Kuchar is a bigtime gambler on the golf course, and will bet about anything you want to bet. Right now the way he's playing I doubt there are very many people who would take his bet. Tiger is just an asshole who has fucked up his personal life in a big way, but he IS good for the game of golf whether you like it or not. Phil is too, in another way. He's a good ambassador for the game.

A book took his action on credit through an agent...and Phil didn't have a family back then....

so did the agent get stiffed or the book ?

It works this way...if the player doesn't pay, the agent is supposed to pay....that was the way it was years ago but now there are many crooked agents out there who are scum...the book in question did not get paid...

so its possible the agent stiffed the book ? nobody can know for sure what goes on between two people. I doubt if Phil or any other high profile person is going to get involved with an offshore book, so the agent obviously could be the one in question..
