If the woman gets preg by a wealthy man, and hasn't signed a pre-nup---Hey she got wealthy. Don't sign one!
That is If she demands to HAVE the child! (my point here)

OK, I didn't see you were speaking from the viewpoint of a knocked up woman via a rich man. I took it as more general in nature.

Funny because I'm watching "An officer and a gentleman" , right now ( again).

The factory broads in this movie want to marry Navy pilots, as a way out....at least one of them.

Not that Navy pilots are wealthy, but way better than the lives these girls would live otherwise.

Prenup good for those with lots of assets and money before marriage...doesn't apply to 97% of marriages.

Not necessarily. Paul McCartney gives $60 million to his ex-wife after a few years of marriage and his life is completely unchanged. If I had to give up half of my measly savings it would cause a significant hardship

If you love someone it's ok

And if you love them enough to marry them, you owe it to yourselves to think about the future

hope for the best but plan for the worst. just seems a mutual agreement by both would benefit both in the event of divorce regardless of wealth. no drag out bitter divorce to suck your money away to the legal guys.

Marriage is a relationship and i might add. The biggest gamble anyone will ever make. Same as two partners entering a
relationship to go into business. You would have a legal
agreement written by an attorney in such a situation, right?
Useful when there are assets brought into a relationship, especially of unequal value. And, also i might add, useful for a marriage between different cultures. I was married to a tica for a few years, supported her and her 4 children -not mine like a queen and princes. One day she decides a divorce, i am no longer working, bam--a huge cash settlement plus a pension.
Also i believe in a pre nup, because when people are in love it's easier to come to an agrrement than in a divorce situation with greedy lawyers involved. Plan ahead what to do with assets and and children, avoid the battle of a century--better for kids, and each party.

Marriage with a Prenup

The one with wealth that marries one without wealth and asks for a prenup; makes a very strong statement--IF things don't work; I love my money more than I love you. That may sound too strong...but it's all about "control".
It creates a "slave" of the poorer spouse. No need to even consider marriage, if you need a prenup.... (A wealthy spouse can easily hide their assests and probably has done so anyway--if they need a lawyer to get married!)
