There are forums out there that have zero tolerance as far as flaming is concerned. You either allow it or get rid of it. It's as simple as that buddy.

I think if everyone got along perfectly it might get a little boring...

People that are willing to put money on their opinions tend to be very aggressive by nature.

With the presence of football season, people will get even more aggressive. In the other sports, I dont feel out of line jumping in a thread and asking someone "did you overlook this?" regarding a wager on a particular team. In football, it's pretty much out of the question. If your opinion is wrong you never hear the end of it, and if you are right you just made an enemy by showing someone up, and this attitude tends to spill over to the other forums as well Sept to Jan.

Some people actually like to be bashed. Typically they fall under the passive-aggressive personality type, and dont need love--just attention of any type will do, and being ignored is not an option.

The only problem with these types of people is that they tend to overlook the harm they may cause others in the process, or just dont care. Personally, I dont like having to weed thru unfounded posts about top-level sportsbooks folding, or little league baseball betting. You never know who cruises thru and uses this type of material to push their agenda thru congress. Hell, if I was a lobbyist I would. When you are knew to the forums you have no clue what is true and what is garbage. All you see is a name and number of views, and you tend to think that whatever has the most views is probably true. If you had never heard of 'sportsbook x' and read some of the BS lately, would you as a newbie consider posting up there? Chances are, you'd end up at stiffbook.com and that is what a lot of us are trying to keep from happening--in our own special ways. I think a lot of it is an effort to discredit those who offer unfounded rumors.

Sometimes things get out of hand, but I think the mods do a good job at letting people sort things out on their own. The creation of the Rubber Room was an act of genious, I think it helps keep people civil in the other forums as they know if things get too heated that's where they will end up, not that it's a bad thing. Only the strong survive in the Rubber Room, somebody recently lasted oh, about 10 minutes.

It's the same as fighting in hockey. Some people see fighting as necessary and fun to watch while others think it's ridiculous.

When poster A does not reply to another poster when attacked, does poster A feel like he is a lesser man for not responding or feel embarrased for letting it go? This issue needs to be studied. Is there a SHRINK in the house?

You know I'm often involved in many pissing contest, sometimes with several guys at the same time.

But, I do it for fun. I don't hate anyone, not even my good ole american friend theerodfather of sports, tiger, kody, or anyone else.

I just find it funny to see how many teenager <knows it all> and semi-retarded wannabees post here.

When I see one, I just can't not to bash them a bit, just for fun

If you ask me for a solution, I can only suggest something that I suggested probably 10 times in the last 4 years.

Make this site a pay site, with some annual fee, and you will be surprised of the results.

You wont have this many posters, but you will have the serious ones for sure.

i would be here even if it was a pay site. but i'm sure many kids would not be here and it would make this site for adults only. afterall, gambling is for adults only as well, or thats at least how i see it.

of course i would not pay for crackman's and nover's bullshit stories, or for sick gamblers, vega's, jj stupid's or railbird's insane posts, but i would pay for information exchange with serious people.

General,

It's a matter of personality IMO. Some people are highly sensitive and avoid all types of conflict, whereas others are aggressive and want to fight for the causes they believe in. I see nothing wrong with that and I think fighting and wars are part of nature and not a "disease" to be "cured"

The sensitive, conflict-avoiding types preach to the fighters that they should be more tolerant towards one another. They say tolerance is a virtue and should be practiced by all. Well, if they really believe that, then they should start by practicing what they preach and be more tolerant towards the fighters and let them duke it out. Not trying to force your ideals on others is the ultimate in tolerance IMO.

Thanks Don.

Darryl, we do let em duke it out. We just ask they do it in the RR. I enjoy reading it as well. No matter how silly i see it, i can take pleasure often when bored. Although I can sit and giggle, I still see it as a waste of time. Obviously some see it differently. Thats why i am looking for all opinions.

I think some posters actually feel like onlookers think they are scared when they do not reply to other bashers. I cannot imagine worrying over another poster thinking I am scared to post.

Don

There a couple of forums out there that have serious posters with great Information. They allow no flaming whatsoever, and nobody has any egos. I am sure you know which one's they are.

General you know it is human nature. Humans have a built in "need" for conflict.

As for the "on the job example", are you trying to tell me you would let some one deck you and not hit him back? Again, human nature.

Some people are just confrontational by nature, I don't know maybe not enough attention at home. Ignore is the best solution!

But no matter what you will always have people that do not get along, thats what makes us human, I suppose!

Vegas, i came from a forum where flaming and name calling was not allowed or a couple warning would be issued and then suspensions. Did not matter who you were or how long you had been there. It made for a very comradery filled forum.

Here is my situation: For entertainment purposes, I visit the RX. There is plenty of it here. But for Information, I go elsewhere because I don't have to weed through dozens of posts to find what I am looking for.

As far as Information at the RX, I am not saying it doesn't exist, but in order to find it, one would have to go through dozens and dozens of bullshit posts before locating anything that resembles gambling.

Your sports forums are loaded with hypothetical and egotistical SOB's. I never imagined I would see so many people risk 1,500 UNITS per day. But then maybe I am living a sheltered life.

But don't get me wrong, I feel the same way as Don. I love picking on bullshit and fraud artists.
