Simple truth if he had been up 40k that GOY 40k game never happens and he continues his 1k a game betting.(these are also fake wagers and way more then he could ever afford) But since he was soooo far in the hole at betting 1k a game(over 40k) he then decides to have a GOY to try to pull himself close to even because he knows he would never dig out of it otherwise.
