Wide receiver Ed McCaffrey, a fan favorite and member of the Broncos' back-to-back Super Bowl championship teams, announced his retirement March 2 after 13 years in the NFL. McCaffrey said the decision was right for his career and his family. "I am proud to retire as a Denver Bronco," McCaffrey said. Owner Pat Bowlen called the day bittersweet for the team and the fans. "He is going to be remembered by me and by most of the fans here as the bravest and most courageous player to play for the team,'' he said.

The guy was a tough son of a gun...I have seen him get knocked out and still hang on to the ball!

Most remember the night he was carted off on MNF with that nasty injury ,that was the eve of 9/11...we all stayed up late and little did we know what was about to happen...

I am a huge skins fan and watched every game Baily has played in. Baily is undoubtedly a good corner. Top 5 may be pushing it. He routinely got burned at least once in nearly every game last year. Then he would come back and make an outstanding play. He is too inconsistent for all this hype that he gets, and the Skins probably don't feel he is worth $7 mill per year. He will play the run and make hits on those running backs. But I would disagree that he can be labeled a shutdown corner. Portis is a fabulous addition to the Skins roster. The only thing that worries me in this deal is the 2nd round pick. That may have been a little much, but in all I am very pleased. The salary cap savings also favors the Skins in this deal. So the talent and financial savings allows the Skins to have gotten the better deal in my opinion. Still hate to see the 2nd round pick go.

This is all typical big-spender. Look at how Snyder is putting all his money on his skill position guys when the line let them down so much last year. Ramsey was getting pounded in a lot of those games. Smart owners invest in the OL first, then fill in guys behind it. This guy does it backwards. Why spend the big cash on a RB and a QB that have gotten hurt in the last couple of years without addressing the real issue on offense. Shanahan knows that. Sure Portis' replacement won't be the same, but his squad will live and die with the line, not the RB.

I absolutely agree with Studbolt.Bailey is above average, but not a great corner. I would even rate Cowboys rookie Terence Newman above him.......
