A military person called out brian williams for continuously repeating a lie while this guy and website are on an obvious witch-hunt. He doesn't even have the courage to go on O'Reilly's show. Personally, I don't think brian williams should be fired. We all make mistakes. Comparing brian williams with what happened 30 something years ago is just silly internet garbage. I made it clear I am personally not comparing this to Brian Williams. Brian Williams was a news reading monkey who had cred before, which is now gone. O'Reilly is an opinion purveyor and didn't have cred, except among the Wingnuts he attracts. The comparison is that both men are famous, and lied/exaggerated about their escapades. Williams was fired in disgrace, with no supporters. His lies were acknowledged. His network thought it more important that truth win out. I think that was an overreaction, but he made his bed, he lies in it.
O'Reilly and his wingnut followers, as usual, are launching an all out assault against Truth, and anyone who dares print it or say it. You're using his tactics. Nothing Corn said in his piece has been proven false. On the contrary, it's been backed up further. Just because you and others like you don't like the source, doesn't mean that source, and now many others backing the source, have no cred. On the contrary, Corn and MJ were extremely accurate when they uncovered the Romney tape. You might not like the truth, but it was truth. Truth has no party, no ideology. It's just truth. We have a very simple truth here. O'Reilly lied. Is it a big deal? Not particularly except O'Reilly is a celebrity who tries to paint everyone else a liar but him. He was caught, and if he was a man, like Williams ultimately was, he'd apologize and move on, instead of bullying and threatening anyone who continues to write and say the truth.
I don't think O'Reilly should be fired, but I do think he deserves some kind of censure, instead of all out rallying by some fools, simply because he shares their point of view. That's just plain sad.
