That was the control panel in the photo. Usually they run on a different circuit from the heating elements. Those are usually on a 30A or 50A circuit breaker and run through medium size wires to the heater unit itself. If your control works but the heat is off, maybe the heat is just shut off in the breaker panel. Maybe it's not hooked up or came loose.
Just open the electrical access door (or little access plate) on the heater and check the voltage across the 2 (#10 or #8 gauge) circuit wires with a voltmeter if you have one. When the panel is turned on, you should have voltage to the heating elements. Probably 220V.
If you have voltage but it's not getting hot, maybe the heating coils have burned up (turned on with no water at one time) and need to be replaced. They don't cost that much.
TTP - just skimmed thru this thread (so sorry if this has been covered). Do you have a solar blanket for your pool? If it's not covered, the pool will not heat up/will not retain heat. My heater is gas - usually will incease by 1,2,3 degrees F per hour.
I can't afford a pool, we just use the pond out back.
BTW, just pee in your pool, that should heat it up. And if you don't, your neighbors kids will. (Buster, I thought you would beat me to that one).:nopityA:
