Rechecked .... MEM 20-4 ATS as a Dog off a Loss with 0 days rest since 2011

Half the team scratched and this Angle still Wins tonight = 23-5 now.

Shame the rest of my picks today were 4-6.

That Ga State Loss was awful. Not the first time that team did me dirty either. They were up 23 in the 2H on this Shitty Louisiana team today and every few minutes I would check the score and 3-5 more ponts of that lead would evaporate. -5 they end up with a 3 point 'Win'.

SUPER BOWL LI

Trends:

Underdogs have covered 6 of the last 8 and the underdog has covered 11 of the past 15 winning 8 of them outright.

The underdog has gone 13-5-3 ATS in the last 21 Super Bowls

The AFC team has won 10 of the last 17 SU but is only 7-9-1 ATS in those straight-up wins

SB Team Favored between 0-3: 6-6 ATS

Super Bowl favorites of 5 or less points in “double rest” games – a week of rest before their 1st playoff game and week of rest prior to the big game – are 1-9 SU/ATS in SB

The Patriots & Falcons have played 5 common opponents (AZ, Sea, SF, Rams, & Denver), a total of 11 games. New England has gone 4-1 SU & 4-1 ATS, while Atlanta has gone 5-1 SU & 6-0 ATS. In those games, the Patriots had edges of 7.4 ppg SU, & 1.7 ppg ATS, while the Falcons had edges of 16.0 ppg SU, & 12.8 ppg ATS

Atlanta

Ryan was 20-of-22 in 3rd down situations vs Seattle & Green Bay.

The Falcons have been installed as underdogs 5 times this year (none since 10/16), winning 4 outright, covering all 5, by a total of 62 pts (12.4 ppg)

New England:

New England (Brady-Belichick era): Margin of victory in Super Bowls: 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4 pts, with Pats' going 2-4 ATS

New England has recorded multiple takeaways in 7 of its last 8 games

Brady is 4-0 all-time vs Atlanta, with 9 TDs & just 1 pick.

Belichick with 2 weeks to prepare in the playoffs: 13-3 SU and 7-8-1 ATS

Patriots have scored 0 1[SUP]st[/SUP] Q points in their 6 SB’s in Brady-Belichick era

Atlanta
Teams who score 40 or more points in an NFL playoff game are 11-18 SU and 4-24-1 ATS in their following game

New England
Teams that are making a repeat appearance in a 3 year span (NE)- Since 1995 they have gone 4-3 SU and 2-6 ATS when making a 2nd SB appearance in a 3 yr span.

The underdog in Brady's previous 6 Super Bowls is 5-0 ATS (Seattle game closed at PK)

Thanks Ace for all the research .... In addition the Lower Seed (ATL) has covered 16 of the past 17 Super Bowls if the teams weren't the same Seeding.

The other board I post at knows that I got down earlier in the week at Patriots -3 +107.

///

Need to make this quick. I'm hosting the party. Much to be done.

///

This, in my mind, is as tough as the toughest SBs I've capped. Gonna give you my free thoughts as they come to mind.

The Patriot vulnerability that scares the shit out of me is our lousy pass rush. The thoight of giving a QB who is having the kind of year Ryan is having, five or six, ot seven seconds everytime he drops back is scaring the shit out of my Patriot interest. Our Defense is young and growing in the secondary. They will make stops and I'm hopeful that they'll turn the ball over as they have done quite often in the second half of the year. They hit hard and may discourage those Atlanta receivers. But Jones and Troillio are big. Tough to discourage easily, as are the backs out of the backfield. For Atlanta to run they will need to find the edges. Our interior D line is tough. But our offense is great in the red zone while Atlanta's stinks. Keep that in mind.

Our offense is also solid. When you see the total points scored averages, realize that a shutout of the Patriots is counting in those total numbers. That was early in the season with our rookie QB playing with a broken hand. Pill that game out and our offense inder Bardy is just as formidable as Atlanta's. We don't have Gronk. We still have a tremendous offense without him but we could miss his contribution in a game where scoring with every opportunity will be paramount.

Our passing game is stellar even without Gronk. We have a deep receiving corps, the best yards after the catch average, and backs in Lewis and White that sometimes line up wide. TE Bennett has been fairly quiet lately but I expect to see a lot of him today. Atlanta's D is vulnerable to the tight end. In 11 of 18 games the tight end has gone for 38 yards or more. Don't dorget that stat includes teams who barely use their TEs.

I expect us to run a lot and expect Lewis and Blount to account for near 150 yds. Those guys are an underrated one, two punch. Consider that when you think about total points which I stink at.

One other Patriot position has been shaky this year. The kicker, Gostkowski, who has been such an automatic weapon for us in years past, has been inconsistent this year. That bothers me. I will be holding ny breath even for extra points (Could this be the way the Patriots win by 2 but Atlanta covers? Sure hope not.

Think that covers the thoughts off the top of my head.

I'm a Patriot homer. You guys know that. But I tried to give you my honest feelings. I'm not getting HEAVILY involved. I'll have fun no matter what the outcome. Hope you guys do the same.

I knew Virginia was a good play tonight.....They caught some major steam from the opening line.

I`m kicking myself in the ass though because i loved the Jazz tonight and layed off.

Wait for that Kansas 2nd half...See what it looks like.

Kansas is hurting lately

Southern opened up at -5 line dropped to 3......Plus they are a huge public play 68%.

See what the halftime score is.....Hopefully they are trailing.

I like going against small game chalk 1,2, or 3 point favorites and when they are trailing at the half they are small chalk again in the 2nd half....And i just go against them.

It works a lot.
