Houston gives up more runs on their shifts than any team I've ever seen. They shift on pretty much every hitter and it hurts them more than helps.

they put a lot of pressure on their pitchers to get additional outs.

It's beautiful when it works. It's how advance scouts move up in the hierarchy of MLB. When it fails scouts get fired or demoted and we don't even know their names. Something is out of whack in HOU this year. This team was 3 years from a WS push last year and is playing better of late. But the Season overall is an hourglass with sand fast running out on them.

Hey Vit you know what gets my goat. MLB is such a game of streaks. By the time you figure out the reason for a win streak or slide momentum turns in the other direction. I want to bet hard against both KC and the CWS right now. But look at what the schedule maker did to that bright idea!

The shift is a weird thing, it's a lock on some guys....like Ryan Howard .....I don't think they show it on tv but there is nobody on left side of the infield when he bats against most teams.

Houston is having one of those years where every 50/50 thing is going 95/5 against them. Robbed of hits...other teams bleeding dribblers thru holes, some of the worst two strike pitches I've ever seen....they have been playing better though.

Kc beat me the other week with that 7 run bottom of the 9th against the white sox. Yep, crazy shit with the streaks....KC offense looks completely dead right now.

Belmont Stakes thoughts and plays...

Race 11 at Belmont Park post time 6:37est.

Lots of different ways to look at this race with a lack of speed horses and an abundance of closers making it difficult to figure out how this race will unfold. WinStar farm has sent out Gettysburg, a speed horse, to try and set a faster pace than expected to hopefully set up a closing bid for the farms other entry, Creator. This is good strategy and will probably work but will also help all the other closers too. I think the key to this race will be positioning by the jockey and when to make your big run from off the pace. I think the jockey will decide the outcome of this race more so than the horse. Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith takes over the mount on Suddenbreakingnews and this is why I love this horse. This horse was flying at the end of the derby and looked like he had plenty left to go even further. Smith will have this horse much closer to the pace and his expertise will be the difference in the end. Gettysburg will go to the lead and will be followed by Destin and Stradivari as those 3 should determine the pace. The rest will be far back but not as far behind as they were in the derby. Look for SBN, Exaggerator, Creator, and Lani to all be in the mix coming for home. I also think Stradivari will hang on and be in the mix.

My plays...

#4 Suddenbreakingnews WPS

exactas 4/2,5,10,11,13 2,5,10,11,13/4

trifecta box using 4,5,10,11,13

superfecta box using 4,5,10,11,13

I will also be playing a pick 4(races 8-11) and will post it tomorrow afternoon once I see the scratches and track conditions.

Thanks WW. I'm liking Lani. Great Distance Breeding, and the Japanese Training methods seem to be more for distance races then we do over here. Horse seems to love Belmont. Good luck.

If I had to pick a second choice it would be Lani. Horse has been training great and he can run all day long. He will be a very nice price too. I'd take Lani winning with SBN running second.

Thanks for posting. Always good to see your thoughts. Glad to see you on the same horses as I am.
