There is a new sushi place called Sushi-Ko in the San Jose 2000 under the stairs. Good quailty. They have a plate with 25 pieces of Sashimi over a bed of sushi rice for 3,000 colones. You cant beat that anywhere. Tiny place but friendly and good fresh fish. Then you can hit La Cantina in the Best Western

eggplant, if you pass Mall San Pedro on your right, heading towards downtown San Jose, pass the AM/PM on your right, then the light at Bagelmen's take a left, go down the hill. At the bottom of the hill is the German Club on the left, BUT take a right, then another quick right, Il Ritorno is straight down, maybe 300-500 yards on the right hand side.....
You wont be disappointed......tortellini soup, meat ravioli's, chicken dishes are great....
If I messes up on the directions, please, someone correct me...

Or...a little easier is:

The KFC in San Pedro is on the corner of main street and a little side street. Go down that side street until you hit the light. On your right side will be Il Ritorno.

Il Ritorno is owned by the old owner of Ponte Vecchio's (Tony) and they have the same bartender and 2 waiters that worked with Tony back in the day.

If you are driving, AF1s directions should get you there.

That's a bit confusing actually, because there's another KFC in San Pedro/Curridabat (across from Plaza Del Sol), also on the corner of the main street. Just past that on the side street is an INKA grill.

I don't recall the KFC in San Pedro/Los Yoses, but I'm not real observant.

Adam,

The KFC is Los Yoses is just as you enter Los Yoses, coming from downtown San Jose. The train tracks run in the middle of the street in front of it.

Ok, I was a little off. The light to take the left at is only 200 yards past the AM/PM (past the Mall), before the KFC and Bagelman's. Everything else is right on the money.
BTW, I went to lunch there this afternoon, I've been resting because I'm so full. I had the Caesar salad, tortellini soup and the Veal Marsala. My buddy had the Caesar salad and Lasagna. Everything was awesome and once again, the bill very cheap, ¢14,000. I'm always full walkin' outa there and the food is extremely good for the price.

Ok, went to Buffalo's for lunch yesterday, sat outside, it was real nice. I like the scenery walking outside the best, pretty busy street. Rolls, tortilla chips and salsa for the pre-app were good. I had the chicken soup and chicken cordon blue. My buddy had the strip loin steak which was really good....mashed potatoes could easily be better...
The waiter actually asked me how I heard about the place, I told him "Jake sent me", he then proceeded to charge me double and throw a drink in my face.

BTW, I know of one sushi place that is close by to my house. I don't know the name of the little strip mall complex, but it's after Buffalo's and the K & G Brewery on the right hand side. Go inside and there is a little place on the left hand side, don't know the name either, sorry.. It's pretty decent sushi and steak tepanyaki, little pricey though. Are there any other decent places that are close to Curidabad or Mall San Pedro for sushi? Looking to go for lunch in a half hour to an hour if any....
Thanks in advance.

I have a recommendation, a not well known spanish restaurant, its in the little commercial center on the main road of san pedro, its from the church three/four blocks east, its on the left hand side, you will see a little commercial center.

The restaurant is all the way to the back.

forget about il molino ( is inside the Mall by the way) head instead to IL RITORNO, the Chef and owner use to be the Chef at Ponte Vecchio ( best Italian restaurant in San Jose')
it's located at the dante Alighieri School Los Yoses.
...and that's the truth....ruth

Nuke,

Al Molino's # is 228-9462. 2white doesnt know what he is talking about. It is not even close to any mall. From the big Church in Old Escazu take that road up a couple kilometers. I will be on the left hand side when the road starts curving.
