If you don't like bad beat rants, you may want to skip this thread...

I'm staying with the wife at Golden Nugget Lake Charles Louisiana, a resort that rivals any olace in Vegas we've been in.

Last night I sit down at $1/$3 NL and buy in for the max of $300. Though I later learned you could buy in for the biggest stack at the table. They also had a promotion where if you got aces cracked you got a free $100 from the house.

After the first hour I'm up anout $50 and get involved with a maniac next to me. I've got two red kings in earl postion and raise to $17 and get two callers including the maniac. Flop comes ten clubs 2 hearts 3 diamonds. I bet $35 into about $55 pot. Maniac calls and other guy folds. King clubs on turn. I check to maniac knowing he's going to try and steal the pot. He bets $100. I raise to $300 virtually going all in with $15
behind. He snap calls. WTF. I Look at him and say "you're drawing right?" As the 9 diamonds comes on the river and he says "yeah and I just won the pot" as he turns over queen jack of clubs.

A few hands later I get about $150 in the pot with AQ and top two pair. Before I realize it's really Q4. Lol. First time I've ever done that... time to take a break.

I come back an hour later and literally first hand back I lose $200 when I've got jacks against tens and a ten hits the flop.

Another memorable hand: guy goes allin in early position for $80 and idiot flat calls in middle position. I wale up in big blind with AK diamonds and rerais3 allin for about $200. Idiot calls. Original raiser had 99 idiot turns over king ten and scoops the pot when ten hits the flop. Lost another allin to that same idiot whetre he grts it in dominated
with Qten and wins.

Last hand of the night Im in a pot with 74 in the blindsflop comes 944 and guy to my left bets $10 and gets another caller befote me and I reraise to $35 and they both call (wtf). Turn is jack clubs putting 2 clubs on board. Original better goes allin for $200. Ugh. Next guy who is solid player hems and haws and eventually calls. I sit and think and stare for at least 5 mins and really feel like Im beat and fold. First guy turns over
AA and n3xt guy turns over 4 5. FUCK ME.

I Still think it was a good fold.

End day down $950.

But still having a great time. 2 more days to get it back... choptalk where are you?

Sorry for typos im posting from phone.

Two biggest mistakes I see people making all night long:

1. Overbetting the pot. Betting $25 into a $15 pot and then acting all proud as they pull it...

2. Not bet sizing in order to induce callers when you clearly have the best hand. Duh. You want callers when all the cards are out and you have a monster.

That sucks man. I can guarantee there is more of that type play (calling a big bet on a str8 draw) then we realize at many tables. Most times those guys look at the river, look at their cards, look at the river... then muck their cards so we never know what in the blue fck they were drawing.

As for thinking you had AQ instead of Q4... I had something like that happen once in live play. Funniest shit ever. I flipped my cards with what I though was two pair and KQ on board. In reality I was holding JQ and when i flipped my cards everyone was like WTF. I just called a huge all in bet after the rirver with middle pair. The great part was when the other guy just mucked. He was bluffing with total shit. I would never have called him if i knew I had middle pair. $300 pot

He actually had a flush draw too... 15 outs I think... cuz a few of his flush outs made me a full house. So while he didnt have pot odds to make a $200 call for 15 outs,
it wasnt outrageous like a lot of the other play...

I like these threads...I don't really want you to lose, but they just seem better when you are telling losing stories.

If I'm seeing small pots I'll go for an inside straight draw. If I win people think I'm an idiot and I can play tight from that point on. When I finally do play (strong) later on the people at the table remember my inside straight draw and think I'm bluffing again. Just a little trick I play when the table is slow and the pots are low.

Won $350 of it back last night. No crazy hands I was involved in, but I'll detail a huge crazy pot later on today. Choptalk is going to be here in a few...
