T his only negative is experience and I think we saw that in the last two games with his turn overs. Some bad decisions because he has not been in those positions before. His upside is huge.. I hate to sound like a homer and try to always be objective, but in my honest opinion of the 4 teams in the playoff Jones was and is the best QB of the 4 when you look at all the measurable traits. While he was third on the depth chart he could easily have been first. Millers ability to run put him number one. In the spring Jones was second on the depth chart and tbh i dont know why he fell to third. We were fortunate to have 3 kids when you put everything together that are pretty close to each other with ability.. I would like to see him stay in school but if he could be projected as a first round pick I would love for him to see the financial reward. He has gone through some really tough life issues and it would be great for him, or any kid, who has struggled as he has, to come out in good shape for a change and enjoy the good things life has to offer.

i think all 4 teams in the playoff are good solid teams, i think the difference maker was the head coach.. i have said it forever. Urban Meyer is the best "coach" out there. I am not even sure who I would put at second. I think saban is average with X's and O's but his ability to recruit is unmatched, that is what makes bama so great. On top of that he is a great leader, few men like him in the country. He can be successful at what ever he chooses to do because he understands the organizational "process" of success.. on top of that I think he is a class act. He is probably one of best, if not the best men in the coaching profession. Saban represents everything that is good in college football, I think Urban Meyer has learned a lot from him and is becoming more "saban" like..

Bucks, don't have the patience to track down past posts, I'm sure there's a point and click somewhere, LOL, but one of the points I made weeks ago was, and this was between Saban and Meyer for their game.....Who's got the better big bowl record? There is NO DOUBT Meyer is probably, hell no, IS the best coach in college football today. Shit, he was the best when at Florida and then had the mental meltdown of sorts. I'd take him and a Pop Warner team against half the CFB teams out there. That all being said, Jones has until tomorrow to decide, I might get arrested doing this since I live in a pretty good area of Charlotte, but I'll streak across the street from my condo to Myers Park CC and back if he doesn't declare tomorrow. The man has the tools, he is Ben with a little bit more of a tan, the way he avoided some tackles in that game, the way he throws the skin, I'm telling you, he will be a star in the No Fun League, may as well start the process and get paid for it now, because Miller and Barrett are going to be back next year and I sure as hell wouldn't want to be chairing the pine getting paid nothing. My Two Cents.

Oh, and the good news is, Bucky has about everyone coming back, AND Urban knows how to repeat. Damn good time to be a Buckeye......not a lowly....lowly......lowly Commodore, LOL.

Ok the final AP poll comes out and has Oregon #2. They have Alabama #4. Now I realize Oregon played in the national championship game but they lost to Ohio St by a larger margin than Alabama in their loss to Ohio St. I don't get it. In fact they ranked TCU #3 ahead of Alabama. I think Alabama should have been ranked #2 and I am not an Alabama or SEC fan either. I think Oregon should have been #3 over TCU. What do you think.

Russ, we're beating a dead horse. I opined that the four teams that played in the playoff should have finished 1 through four, give TCU the fifth spot. I don't have a vote, us lowly Vandy grads/players, although now that I think about it, Skip Bayless might have had a vote, lol, but I personally get no say in the matter....which is a good thing, the Commodores would have finished ranked No. 1.....in something, just have to figure out what, LOL. Hope all is well in the City, I'll be passing through very soon, gonna have to stop to hit a few old haunts.

At this point it really doesn't matter to me where they rank Oregon. Anybody finishing below number one is just getting a participation ribbon anyway. Thanks for coming, see ya next year...

Honestly, what is the difference between finishing 2 and 25? Only one trophy.

Whoa!!!! Not gonna give a shit about your sofa, but ya can bring that bottle of Mac over and we'll snarf a couple of quaffs, LOL. Personally, drink the 18 year, but went on a 1 year kick with the .....think they called it "cask strength," if I recall. Buddy of mine spilled some on his GTR and had to have a paint job, LOL. My wife hated seeing that bottle anywhere, all bars included, had to have my keeps hide it and pour when she hit the head. It is what it is, when ya pay the bills, the tuition, the house with the pool in the section of town she wants to be in, the car she wants to drive, then by God, you have a right to drink what you want!!! OT, I know, but just blew a pressure relief valve on something a little while ago. GLTA!

I WILL NEVER EVER BASH THE OREGON DUCKS!!! They could lose by 20+ every year and I Would never bash them. As a matter of fact, I hope the Oregon Ducks are in the National Championship game next year vs the Buckeyes. Oh yes I sure hope so...

Yours in Winners

*****by the way I agree with Russ. My numbers had ALABAMA beating Oregon as well so it didn't matter who they played
