New video shows a medical school dean seemingly admitting that university staffers had high school students dissect human fetal brains during a summer camp on the school’s campus.
The New Mexico Alliance for Life uploaded video of University of New Mexico Medical School Dean Paul Roth addressing the claims on camera.

“Can I please ask you what you said before regarding the workshop with UNM fetal remains with high school students?” a female voice is heard asking Roth.
The medical school administrator responded, “Yes. We had a faculty member who obtained some tissue, and during one of the summer workshops, dissected I think one — one or two fetal brains.”
Roth added that he’s “unsure exactly” how the university obtained the fetal brains. According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, it is legal in New Mexico to perform research on aborted fetuses or embryos, but not on fetuses or embryos obtained otherwise.
New Mexico state law prohibits the sale of fetal tissue and federal law prohibits “knowingly acquir[ing], receiv[ing], or otherwise transfer[ing] any fetal tissue for valuable consideration if the transfer affects interstate commerce.”
Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) in July issued a criminal referral to New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas for possible violation of state and/or federal law by the University of New Mexico and Southwestern Women’s Options, the late-term abortion clinic from which it obtained the fetuses.
