for widely available beers I'd go with Sculpin, Head Hunter, Strange Magic among others. To just go one step up from those macros grab some Founders All Day IPA, should be easy to find and you won't be napping at 6pmLOL, I agree been around for awhile.
What do you recommend, was getting tired of Becks, Heineken, Coors Lite, Miller Lite, etc.

All-time favs are Pliny the Elder, Heady Topper, anything from Lawsons, Westy 10, Ayinger, some Cantillon's, Zombie Dust, and Blind Pig.
other than founders, are those PA or northeast beers? I haven’t heard of any of them but that doesn’t mean anything
You age the 120 minute ipas. Good for special occasions. I admit to buying a 4 pack for $44 at Total.
cantillon, westy, and ayinger are not IPAs but the rest are.... westy and cantillon are belgian, ayinger might be german (?)
sculpin is ballast point in san diego which got bought a few years ago by one of the big boys (inbev, i think). they also make a grapefruit sculpin. for years i drank mostly sculpin and jai alai (tampa cigar city) but now it's mostly small batch stuff like General Braddock's IPA from Brew Gentleman
strange magic and head hunter are from Fatheads out of Cleveland but have national distribution, pliny and blind pig are from russian river out of CA and probably the best IPA and Pale Ale I've had. Zombie Dust is out of Indiana from Three Floyds who used to have great distribution then pulled back to just a few rust belt states i think
heady topper is alchemist in VT, lawsons also VT, and another is hill farmstead in VT. we get lawsons in PA but not the others. Lawsons (sip of sunshine really good plus a bunch of other IPAs they make) has good distribution so should be in Florida.
also like Westbrook out of Charleston SC...their One Claw IPA is excellent but also make a double (two claw) and then one just called IPA. you can find them throughout the south
yeah used to have a Belgian bar my wife and i frequented called Sharp Edge but went out of business a couple years ago. they're reopening maybe end of '21 or early '22 with a Pizza place called Caliente and will do crafts and belgians. other than westy (impossible to get but best beer I've had) i like the sours and triples. best sours are cantillon, rodenbach grand cru, and duchess. tons of good triples like karmeliet, kasteel, and st fuellien. duvel i think has singles (like a blonde ale) which i didn't drink too much. Sharp Edge would bring over brewers from Belgium like the head brewer at Von Steenberg, and then host beer dinner parties ... was a hell of a great place.Just took a screen shot of this. Jai alai is 1 of my favorites and i like buying cigar city variety packs (florida man is good and they have a very tasty double ipa in the variety pack).
Next time i hit total wine (we can make our own 6 packs) i will be on the lookout for these beers.
Big fan of both IPA's and Belgians.
Speaking of Belgians, have you ever tried Duvel? Very good. I was on a cruise 2 years ago with a drink package and there was a bar that had only beers. While everyone was going for the Heinekeen, coronas, and other popular beers, I was drinking the Duvels (pricey beer as well so got the monies worth)

there's a joint in philly named Monks Cafe which is a great belgian bar if you're ever in that cesspool of a city. another in birmingham AL called The J Clyde that just went out of biz too but was awesome while it lasted.
i'm pretty much all IPA these days
I actually drink a lot of Goose IPA these days. Really like it but not best ever. Seems like publix has a BOGO on it once a month so i'll pick it up
Its funny b/c when people in south florida ask where to get the best fried chicken, we tell them to go to publix. Its that good
Plus their chicken tender subs are very good
Dude I was born and raised in FL, lived there for 25 years the Chicken Tender Subs= Monster Tits
Fried Chicken also very good, nothing better then a 6 pack and a Publix sub.
Citrus County, Crystal River, Homosassa, etc.
Was born in Apopka FL.
Lived in Tallahassee for a bit, when I went to school but the booze and women ate me up.
Brother still lives in the Tampa Area, I have partied at UCF before.
