Based on the forecast, although it's 6 days away, I doubt that the weather plays a part in this game. If it's windy, maybe a little.

i would have to assume, that at least 3 of those 4 games were road games. So no surprise there he lost those.
The one he could have lost at home last year was to Baltimore (dont know what the temp was at game time), and lets face it, PeyPey did his job. Denver scored plenty. The defense was horrendous and blew the game....

two of Manning's first four passes against the Chicago Bears were very nearly intercepted -- and a third actually was, by Chris Harris.
But Manning collected himself and, four hours later, he collected the Vince Lombardi Trophy. After nine seasons, Manning finally has the one thing that matters to him most: an NFL championship.

Manning

MVP Peyton Manning joined the list of quarterbacks who were drafted first overall to win the Super Bowl in their first appearance.
QuarterbackDraftedFirst SB
Peyton Manning, IND1998XLI
Troy Aikman, DAL1989XXVII
Jim Plunkett, OAK1971XV
Terry Bradshaw, PIT1970IX
The Colts prevailed over the Bears 29-17 on Sunday, but Manning would be wise to send a thank-you note to Chicago quarterback Rex Grossman. Much-maligned Grossman will be savaged even more after throwing a fourth-quarter interception to defensive back Kelvin Hayden that was returned 56 yards for the game-changing touchdown.Manning, who completed 25 of 38 passes for 247 yards and one touchdown and threw one interception, was named the game's MVP. Afterward, he deflected at least a half-dozen attempts to elicit a comment about the perception -- after a series of playoff losses -- that he is now a winner.

Chicago had 5 turnovers in that game and only rushed 19 times. Are you predicting seattle has
5 turnovers and that russell wilsons performance will be equal to rex grossman?

I swear this shit is gambler logic. If Seattle won't play identical to Chicago why the hell would The Broncos play identical to the Colts? Because Peyton is there? That makes 0 sense.

It depends if the script is written that way. I don't know. I didn't get an advance copy of it.

This game reminds me of when colts went into super XLI (miami 2006) vs Chicago with no defense and it was rainy, windy, foggy and prolly cold (maybe not that cold). The went against a great Chicago Bear defense. You guys know what the outcome was. hmmmmm

That was Rex Grossman throwing it past receivers like a high school backup. Not even a valid argument.

Go take a look at how rex did that season. They put him back there for a reason. That bears team was blowing away some teams.

Boys, Payton was a questionable QB in the big game many times with the COLTS...this ain't your Daddy COLTS....this is a very good well rounded Denver team...don't over think this game....DENVER by 14. I think the NFL would loooooove to see Denver win.

The game is being played on "Ground-Hogs".....February 2.....A lot of people from NYC don't even know what a ground hog is (they don' allow them in Central Park); They are furry little bastards with sharp teeth who sleep all winter and then try to make a weather forecast right after sunrise on February 2 of each year by reading their shadow (or lack thereof)....I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he couldn't pick the Super Bowl winner based on weather alone.....if only we could get near-him and listen to him grunt....

Go ahead and put your hard earned money on Peyton and the Broncos. Peyton's playoffs record, mediocre at best. Peyton's record in cold weather, pathetic. Peyton's arm strength, can you say AFLAC! We will see how the great Peyton Manning does in cold weather with the pressure of his legacy on the line....I am hoping the betting public pushes the line to Broncos -2.5 or -3, and I will happily buy the points to get to Seahawks +3.5 and a sprinkle some cash on the Seahawks money line. Go Seahawks! By the way, Beast Mode will be your Super Bowl MVP.

Except its not going to be cold - its probably going to be close to 40 degrees at gametime(forecast high is now 46 on weather channel). Not disagreeing with all your other points, but everyone should stop talking about the weather - its simply not going to be a factor in this game.

Of 40 QBs that threw for 1000 yards or more...

34th in Attempts per Interception (only Kitna and Roethlisberger threw more picks)
30th in Passer Rating
22nd in Yards per Attempt
18th in Yards per Game
Total QBR: 39.3 (25th)

Grossman did lead the league in pick 6's, though. In fact, despite only scoring 10 offensive points in the game, the Bears were still in it until the pick 6 Rex threw in the 4th quarter of the SB.

quoted from your own link - "But once the temperature goes above freezing (32), he gets markedly better, 6-5 in games where the temperature is 30-39 and 11-3 in games where the temperature is 40-49".

I don't want to argue with you, but if the high is 46 on Sunday, how is it going to be below 32 by gametime ? I just don't think the weather is going to matter here.

Weather forecast looks pretty good right now as they are calling for the temps (not including wind chill) to be about 42 degrees at the 6pm kick, maybe dropping 5 degrees or so over the course of the game. Winds around 10mph with gusts to 15 and little chance for precipitation. All in all it seems like a pretty good forecast, could have been MUCH worse.

To say weather will not have an impact on the game is foolish. It does not have to be a blizzard to impact Manning. When the game kicks of at approx. 6:30ET, it will be sub 32 degrees. Manning is 2-8 in games when the temp is below 32 degrees. This was as of 11-22-13 when this article was written.

http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos...-in-the-cold-breaking-down-the-numbers/23403/

You're not betting on 10 games. You're betting on one. And those other 10 have nothing to do with this Sunday. Did you really examine, play for play, Manning's execution in all of those games? There's an entire team playing out there. I've seen every single Peyton loss in the postseason and maybe two were truly his fault. The rest he did what he had to do and his D let him down. Yet we've built an entire aura and reputation around those so called losses.

Reality is at one point he was 1-8 and if you put all your money on that record you would've lost when he hit 2-8. All it takes is once. After watching the game my whole life all IC an say with certainty is once you think you have it figured out, once you think you have a magic formula or have found the stats that decide the future, something contradicting it all happens and shits all over it.

I have been there in person for the losses to the Titans, Steelers, Jets while Manning was the Colts QB. Who won a national championship at Tennessee....Peyton Manning, no Tee Martin the following year. Mediocre playoff record, most one and done's in the playoffs, awful cold weather record..etc. Who threw a pick six to seal the loss in the Super Bowl to the Saints? Who threw a pick in OT last year to seal his team's fate versus the Ravens? I concur the Colts defense was poor during Manning's tenure in Indy, but year after year it becomes a trend not an incident. We can argue and discuss all we want. For the reasons outlined in my posts in this thread, my money is going to be on Seattle. If I am wrong, I lose a lot of money and life goes on. If Manning buckles like he has in the past and as I anticipate, then I win a lot of money and life goes on. Good luck with your plays, go Seahawks!

I'm amazed how much money people will put down and then turn around and use this as their logic. The whole "Peyton is a choker" thing was made up by equally ignorant fans who only look at records and not the details of them. Then it gets perpetuated because almost every sports fan on the internet is a knee-jerk thinking lazy ass fool.
