USC won the toss and elected to defend..it's not that complicated....

I am confused. They chose to defend the 1st half but why would they then choose to defend in the 2nd half again. I have never seen this in a game and I believe this is a valid thread started by Whormoan.

That's what I thought VD.

Silly kickers.

Don't feel bad Whor...I don't know every single rule either. But then again, I'm not the one who made a thread clownin' on a coach for "choosing to kick-off both halves"

Actually, USC LOST the toss, and Nebraska elected to take the ball. USC had their choice in the 2nd half, and BOZO lost his mind.

Now you are back tracking.....your entire premise was that he "chose" to KO both halves.

Now you are saying Nebraska chose to receive opening KO.

I think USC won the toss and then Neb. gets to choose what to do in the second half...that's the way I thought it went down....could be wrong, but I do know who the best team was tonite....just a bit tired of Whor bashing a top ranked team and then having nothing to say about USC scoring more than 31 points, a prediction that he made earlier...

I found out from USC message board......Carroll did fuck up.

Neb won the toss in the 1st half and deferred to the 2nd. Carroll chose to kick in the first instead of receive. In the 2nd half, Callahan chose to receive.

I did watch games most of the day, and I would say in general college football is not what it used to be. Parity is not a good thing. The SEC is down (how many yrs can you have littering the 1st rd of the draft and expect to stay on top) but still the best talent in the country. The Big 10 is a joke. The Pac is still the Pac-1. Cal is a total fraud. They don't play any defense. Longshore will choke when he sees any type of defensive pressure (if he ever does). Oregon looks good, but they caught Michigan at the right time and haven't really played anyone. The bottom 7 (UCLA, Az, ASU, WSU, Wash, etc...) are a joke. It's another free pass for USC.

Wow...that is the most balanced college football post you have ever made. USC doesn't have a free pass as long as Booty is under center. I agree with you, he's just not that good...or he's good, but he's far from great. USC has a far tougher go of it than Oklahoma, Texas looks horrible so they basically beat an average Miami and if they go undefeated, played not one top 10-caliber team to play in the national championship.

And I'm starting to think they will.

It think it will be great if LSU and Florida split, USC loses one game, and OK goes undefeated. OK vs. WVU for the national championship.

If that's the case, I apologize and can admit when I am wrong...would think the refs could have helped Pete....Being that this is the third week of football, who do you think should be ranked ahead of USC in your wealth of wisdom??

By the way of all this bullshit, I am a Penn State fan but not a fan of the conference....

Me either.....too bad Paterno couldnt get the Big East to organize back in the 80s. Selfish bastards with their basketball.

If (and a big IF) PSU gets by Michigan next week, I like their chances to run the Big10.

How can you not root for JoPa, throwback uni's, a place called happy valley, and a home called Beaver Stadium. I'll be rooting hard for Penn State to run the table this year.

Penn State rolls over Michigan
