It certainly has been a remarkable run overall, especially on the money-line sides. In light of that I think the criticism over the weekend towards PW was very unjustified. One of the main quibbles was the bets PW makes, and the issue of ROI. That issue of course was swiftly dealt with and answered emphatically.
The other criticism, which again, I thought very unfair was that people on the forum can learn nothing from PW, will remain “sheep” and end up losing in the long run when trying to bet alone.
Personally, I feel one thing PW has done, (that people can take away and use themselves) is to set a great example to us all in terms of money management, and how it is a key to long term success. From observing PW’s methods, it’s clear he is patient, wagers sensibly in terms of units, never chases losses.
For me, learning that lesson alone, through seeing it done day to day by someone has helped me grow my bankroll much better than I have done in the past – mainly due to blowing winnings by chasing and impatience. So learning that patience and slow and steady is the key has done wonders for the bankroll. It’s one part of the equation , and often talked about, but hard to dedicate to.
Of course, good money management is one thing in common all the good handicappers on the forum share and is why they are successful year to year.
Anyway, just a thought I wanted to share.
