I have no idea why you think Flacco is an idiot, as that throw results in a TD if the ball placement is good (to the back left pylon). Thrown to the correct spot, the safety had no chance to make a play on the ball. I actually think it was a good decision by Flacco, just poor execution.

Smith was WIDE OPEN. The pass was intercepted because the throw was bad, not because the decision was bad. Flacco threw the ball four yards short and six yards yards too far to the middle of the field. With good ball placement, it's a TD because the receiver is open. End of story.
