I didn't think the Panthers were gonna keep him long-term either. They gotta pay Starlow and Short and those guys are the core of that D. Norman had a great year but he is 28 and elite CBs tend to begin to fade just a few years later. Committing to him long-term over their interior line guys would've been a mistake and usually it is tough to pay everyone the big $. Pats made the same decision with Chandler Jones, but atleast they did get a draft pick for him.
Considering Cam was about to rip his head off at training camp for a pinch for no reason, I can't imagine what would happen with OBJ. Would be a lot of fun to find out, though...
I would fire the GM instantly . There is no excuse for the way this was handled. It's one thing to make a bad draft pick they all do that from time to time. It's another thing entirely to just completely let a valuable asset go away for absolutely nothing.

Cam Newton is a 1st ballot Hall of Famer in the black qb Hall of Fame which eventually will happen since they think it is OK to put a stupid ugly Aunt Jemeima on my $$. Keep in mind, to be enshrined as a black qb, you just need to stay in the league 5 seasons. Most struggle with that.
